Met Jim Henderson today

I had a short demo on Fox this morning and before I went on Jim Henderson and Bob Breck came in and said hello. After I finished they came back and we hung out and talked for a good 15 minutes.
Both were very down to earth and engaging. Wanted to know all about us and were eager to talk. Asked Jim how he was enjoying retirement and he said he loved it. Also talked about how difficult play by play is because if you get it wrong our fans notice.
Told him how much he means to us fans and the city as a whole to which he replied “no it’s what the fans and city did for me”.
We found out we had mutual aquatints and just regular chit chat.
Bob was very engaging as well.
Didn’t want to ask how he though our Saints were going to do this year but wish I had. Man they were cool.

He made it seem easy when it's anything but. Have to constantly do homework on both teams, pay attention for hours. He seldom made mistakes like most of them today.

We were telling him about how when he retired we listened to all the great moments like “Hakeem drops the ball” and “pigs have flown” and he started talking about the blocked kick and all. He got all excited while talking about all the great moments. For a second you forget he worked as a broadcaster. He is truly just a fan like anyone else. One of the nicest guys I have ever met. I don’t ask for autographs but I got several pictures.

My oldest son, who is the head coach of the USA Swimming team out of Elmwood Fitness Center (Sharks), met Joe Lombardi during practice yesterday. He said he was very friendly and humble. Lombardi's kids swim for the Fins team in Mandeville (where most of the coaches live). Dennis Allen's kids also swim for that team and he said that DA's got a daughter who is really fast. Lombardi swims at Elmwood, which isn't far from the Saints' training facility, to keep in shape. My son, who also trains triathletes, said he isn't that great, though. LOL.
