The good news for Sean Payton and his coaching staff is that they still have about 2 1/2 months to decide.

The bad news is that trimming the roster down to 53 players by the August 31 deadline will be just as difficult as it was a year ago.

Only four of the Saints' seven draft picks made the 53-man roster and only three of those four (Tre'Quan Smith, Marcus Davenport and Will Clapp) were still on the team when the season ended.

It was a good problem to have, showing the depth on the training camp roster. Many of the players the Saints let go were picked up by other teams along the way.

I'm sure hoping that Carl Granderson finds a way to make the 53...

Also depends on what happens with his court stuff; I completely forgot about his off the field issue

This cut is going to keep our coaches awake at night. Our players won't make it to the practice squad. Just like last year teams will be waiting by the waiver wire for our cuts. We leave no stone unturned so I imagine we'll be watching closely too. Leave no stone unturned when your looking for gold.....or rather black gold.

My dark horse is LilJordan Humphrey. If he is a quick study on offense then he could get a shot with the mismatch potential he brings.
