After I saw Marcus throw around a speedy RB around in the pre season game vs SD, then man handle Saquan Barkley in open space vs Giants in a real game ... I was convinced at how physically gifted he is.

The kid has Julius Peppers/Jason Pierre Paul ability. Stay healthy and he's a terror coming off the edge.

Hopefully he comes around faster than Mark Ingram did.

Oh geez, no kidding - The Ingram selection cost us, not factoring bountygate possibility, a first and a second round pick and he didn't have a 1000RuYd season until after his five year rookie contract expired...

There are two types of 100M positions in the NFL. A QB and a pass rusher.

Worth 2 1st rounders? ... I'd say yes. Why? Because our current coaching staff/Executive Scouting dept thought he was worth 2 1st rounders and to date, he hasn't done anything to prove them wrong. The toe injury was a mild "set back".

For the 1st time in a long time, we have a solid defensive line across the board. Why question how we acquired the talent? Did it hurt the team in some way?

IMO the answer is no.

He'll make us forget about the cost real quick when he dominates the competition. Bring on the rag dolls!

I mean, yeah statistically you are correct but Ingram was in a backfield that consisted of himself, Chris Ivory, Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles for 2-3 years.

Granted it took a few years for him to gain confidence and get comfortable, but the 1k rushing thing was also due to Payton's system and a crowded backfield.

Got a good feeling about Marcus, when healthy he was the best "physical" athlete on our D line.
