They want to keep them in their pocket. Just shows you how corrupt the NFL really is

Good work if you can get it.

Every playoff ref crew is made up of officials from separate crews in the regular season. This isn't a big conspiracy, I think they just missed a bad non-call and that was it.

4 of those refs have "ties" to Southern California. FOUR. Sorry but I'm not buying the "officiating assignments based on performance" argument. Why wouldn't the "shield" have at least 2 of these clowns shipped up to cover the KC/Pats title game?

The fix was on. Rigged.

End rant :argue:.

I can remember when it was found that a line judge was a Saints fan from years ago, he was banned from referring any games and this was in preseason a few years back.

I don't think it was rigged. Refs miss calls all the time and they're known for "letting them play" in the playoffs. We didn't have a penalty until the 3rd quarter of that game. Refs didn't make our offense piddle around and keep going 3 and out, giving more chances to the Rams. No game like this comes down to one play. We wouldn't have even been in that position if the offense did their job and not screw around all game. It was like we had the Rams at the edge of a cliff all game and couldn't push them down.

Don't blow a 13 point and 10 point lead twice in the same game, and then immediately turn the ball over in OT and we wouldn't be having this conversation. I knew we were losing that game the minute we let them tie it, cause we spent the entire second half piddling around doing nothing, when we should've given them the dagger to finish it. We had only one single net positive play the rest of the game after going up 20-10, and it just so happened to be Brees' miracle bomb to Ginn.

I went back and re-watched that nightmare of a game this past week and I'm sorry, but we spent 3 quarters trying to give that game away before the refs finally snatched it away from us. I don't know what we were doing with some of the play calling. Kamara was doing more run-blocking than running routes in the second half. Brees played poorly, especially in the 4th quarter and OT. Poor second half adjustments, just like the Steelers game we nearly lost. This game actually went eerily similar to the Pittsburgh game except the defense couldn't keep giving us new opportunities with stops and turnovers.

We didn't play that great in either playoff games. Of the 4 teams left in the conference title games, we had the worst offensive numbers with the lowest yards total and worst 3rd down percentage. This was consistent with how bad the offense declined in the final stretch of the season. I was worried going into the NFCCG due to how bad the offense played against Philly. I don't think we would've fared well against New England in the SB unless the offense magically fixed itself after the NFCCG.

A game deciding pass INT call and helmet to helmet (started in the 1st quarter) that should be an automatic penalty. It doesn't matter if the Saints blew a lead, at the end it all came down to a final drive and play which WASN'T called.

Saints got robbed. End of story.

I'll leave the Rams NCCG right here ...

Personally I cleaned up that milk that spilled a while ago. It happened and nothing is going to change that it happened. Does it suck? Hell yeah but life goes on and I'm ready for the 2019 season to start.

The fact that rules changed based on the travesty softens the blow a little bit. Just time to hit the reset button.

I will never let it go. I am over the Vikings play the year before that because that was 100 percent on us. The Rams game was straight robbery.

You could argue both games were on us.

Marcus Williams' huge goof in Minny and the entire offense not executing since week 13 of last season.

Honestly, we were lucky that Alshon Jeffrey tipped that ball the week prior, we were going home otherwise.

The offense was dire for last stretch of the season as the Defense only got better. Thats the reason we won games late in the season, our D.

Gotta defend Mr. Marcus on the Minnesota loss; the rookie safety had just been told by the coaches to avoid contact, contesting a long pass, so that's the proper context to understanding that play...

Also, Payton had the Saints offense on a roll, running game was getting hot and he flubbed a 3rd and 1 call with Kamara up the middle instead of off-tackle (or Ingram up the middle) and kicked a FG...

That drive stays alive, they kill remaining time, likely score either way...

Dont get me wrong, I understand the context- unfortunately Marcus did a great job of avoiding contact, almost perfect in that regard.
I'll gladly admit it wasn't all Marcus though, as you stated the offense could have put the game away but Payton and the Offense has failed to do that for 2 consecutive years and its cost us in heartbreaking fashion each time.

The offensive output in the 2nd half of the Rams game was embarrassing to be honest.

What's so frustrating was in the 2nd half of the Vikings game, they could barely stop Brees, then we fail to get 1 measly yard that would have let us wind the clock down.

Sounds Harsh but we are big game chokers at the minute.

Or as a glass half full observation ...

We are getting one step closer to winning it all again. This is the year for Lombardi Gras Deux!
