Not until after the first game of the season. Don't forget we face the Texans. And then there's the issue of fitting him into our cap structure at this late date. Perhaps the Redskins as their LT is refusing to show up at all.

I’ll be surprised if Jadeveon Clowney isn’t traded. They need an upgrade at LT to protect Deshaun Watson. LTs don’t grow on trees so I have no idea who it would be at this time of year.

I love insightful well researched hard hitting journalism like this!! I can't believe he didn't go all in and declare the odds of Clowney being traded are 50/50!! What grammar school paper does he write for? HE'S AN EGGSPURT! JUST ASK HIM!!

We have Jordan and Davenport. We also don't have the depth to trade a LT.

Nah. We need all the help we can get on our offensive line. We already have a new center and swapping out another piece at this point could be a huge problem. You know Armstead is going down at some point so we already have that to look forward to.
We shouldn’t clown around with the offensive line.

Not sure why Peat is getting slammed. He is great at LG and it’s noticeable particularly in the run game when he is not in. He isn’t good at LT, but not many are, we found a role he excels in.

I'll never treat PFF as gospel however he was rated the 77th rated guard (39.2 % was among the worst for starting guards in the NFL) last season. 77th. << -- that's terrible.

Andrus is consistently hurt & has been a average player on a very good Saints offensive line since he's been here. Circle back to 2018 ...he played half the season with some sort of injury and was downright terrible during that stretch.

As for LT goes ... I hope we never go down that path with Peat. Just last week (see Smash's post on Peat at Tulane practice) he got some reps and Davenport bull dozed him to the point where it was embarrassing.

"If" the Saints are even remotely interested in a trade scenario, I'd hope we'd get some type of value out of him before he walks in 2020.

By the way, if you hadn't already noticed ... he's hurt again. I can't recall the last time he's been 100% healthy & played at a high level.

That should be concerning to anyone.

As for J Clowney .. I'd be down for a one year rental.

Just don't see the Texans front office making a trade with a Pro Bowl (10+ sacks) caliber DE in exchange for a below average guard who could be beaten out on a few NFL teams.

You'd have to sweeten up that deal quite a bit.

Ravens have lost their starting nickel CB Tavon Young for the season.

Cardinals lost Robert Alford for 2 months with a leg injury as well as Patrick Peterson being suspended.

Some options there to try moving a CB for a pick.

PJ Williams has pretty clearly won the starting nickel CB job here... I’d offer the Ravens Patrick Robinson for a late round pick. Here’s the cap ramifications:

POST-6/1 TRADE
2019 Dead Cap: $1,250,000
2020 Dead Cap: $2,500,000
2019 Cap Savings: $4,100,000

Gardner-Johnson can back-up PJ at the nickel and get reps as dime CB.
