Overrated: Patrick Mahomes – Pick No. 15 overall

Yes, Mahomes is going to be a perennial top-5 quarterback, but are you more likely to win with him and Robby Anderson/Will Fuller or Juju Smith-Schuster/Dalvin Cook and, say, Carson Wentz? Because generally, those guys are your other options at the quarterbacks’ very different ADPs. Drafting Mahomes, you’re counting on him to outscore your competitor’s QBs by such a large margin that Juju or Cook can’t overcome it. That puts a lot of pressure on Mahomes AND your other picks. At a time when good QBs are plentiful, you’re probably better off grabbing a rare commodity at 2.04.

Re: 2019 NFL fantasy draft

I'm in auction but I never pay more than a $1 for a QB, defense and kicker. I stream those positions and have made the playoffs 2-3 years since I started playing fantasy. Last year I was winning games with Tyrod Taylor, Dalton, Flaco then somebody dropped Winston. Picked him up and started crushing teams.

Some underrated players for me this year:

1. Fitzgerald. He's old as dirt but so was Jerry Rice. Rice put up amazing numbers at the same exact age in a similar role.

2. Tate. He will come in handy when the bye weeks start. Great slot WR and they are going to use him. Stash him.

3. Kelce. Not really underrated but there is him, Kittle that can put up WR1 numbers. Maybe Ertz but his situation is not as clear. Everyone else dart throws.

4. Jake Kumerow. This is a big man, 6'4" and has finally turned the corner. Rogers loves him. The upside is massive. Lots of targets.

5. James White. Edelman is old and gets hurt easily. Burkhead, Sony also injury prone. I drafted White last year knowing there was not going to be anyone else. He is also a GL magnet. Floor is a solid flex. Ceiling is an inside top 10 RB like last year.

6. Tyler Boyd. Nothing flashy but they expanded his route tree. He'll be getting 10 targets a game floor early on.
