Oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh. Damn, I see where you are coming from now. My bad. This line:

.. but we do see Jake objectively...
... we don't think he won playoff games by himself... ... we don't think he's the best QB to ever don a Saints uniform... ... we don't think his stats are all that ... ... we know he doesn't have the strongest arm... ... we know he can't run very well... and we also know that: ... he gives credit when due and takes responsibility for his actions... ... recognizes he's got shortcomings and works to correct them... ... he doesn't leave his teammates out to dry if front of the media nor puts them down in front of the media... ... he's a leader... ... and "we" didn't get over any "curse"... The Panthers are a better all around team than the Saints. That they were almost in the playoffs with so many injured starters is a testament to that... |

The fact that the Saints were almost in the playoffs was equally amazing. Injuries schminjuries....it's the freaking NFL. Truth be told, I like Carolina better than just about any other NFC team. They have a good coach that we coulda had and a good QB that we coulda had. Everything lined up for 'em in '03 and their fortunes turned in '04. Better them than the Saints in my book. |

I also realize that people will take any chance to fire away on one side or the other....and I wasn't trying to do that. I just saw the highlights again and it stuck out to me that Jake had a disappointing game. I really expected to lose that game cuz Jake always brought his A game vs. the Saints. The fact that they shook him off and won really convinced me that they may be able to make a run at the Falcons in the playoffs. Things were starting to turn our way...and then we got hosed. |
