You're right. Sadly, your post is going to be read as a dig or cut at AB the wonderful. What cannot be gotten across to the ignorant or unwilling to listen is the fact that (rightly or wrongly) the Quarterback is the designated leader of a football team on Offense and the MLB is the leader on the Defense. Case in point was the signing of Orlando Ruff. He didn't get it done and therefore was considered a dog on Defense and everyone was crying for his head.

I am so sick of the parcing of who shares the credit or the blame for the success or failure of the Saints that I could explode. I'll revert back to my position that no one seems to acknowledge. What is WRONG with the Saints is not the Offense or the Defense. It is the sorry, stupid, pecunious, cap conscious, half wits who are in charge of the Front Office. Quite frankly, we should have NEVER traded for Brooks, NEVER. Mike McCarthy wanted Brooks and EVERYONE on Green Bay said at the time he was drafted that he was AT BEST a Project. Had we been blessed with a Football minded General Manager instead of a Capologist and an Egomaniac in Mule and LoomDumb we'd have tried a different strategy.

But, the Brooks debate rages on. 25% for the Offense, Defense, Special Teams, and Coaching is ridiculous. It's 100% of the Blame to the Front Office duds because they have not recognized what is and is not necessary for a winner. Yes, Defense is important, so is Special teams and the Offense. Yet, for the past 4 years we've been content to be 8-8 and sleepwalk through games hoping the the "All Pro" Brooks would show up instead of the "Fumbles the Clown" Brooks. Coaching and personnel decisions would have decided to get someone in here that would have made Brooks fight for his life for his job instead of rewarding his childish, immature behavior sitting out for a pay raise. Had I been GM in that situation, Brooks would have been playing Arena Ball or he would have headed back to the car wash.

Brooks is NOT the problem. POOR MANAGEMENT is the problem, and it HAS BEEN for the past 4 years.

- The holder has to place the ball correctly for the kicker to kick it.
- The line has to hold the defensive rush to prevent the kick for being blocked.
- He's got to be in scoring position, i.e., close enough to the goal posts, and he would be in scoring position because either:
a) the offense moved the ball to that position or
b) the defense came with a stop in the other team's side of the field.

I did not say player have the same level of responsibility.
All I was saying is...Football is a team game you win or loss
as one....and yes coaching is a part of the team without a doubt.
But when a team start blaming one or two individuals for the things that can go wrong...You no longer have a team...and without a team ya damn sure will not win in the NFL!!!
