He’s only missed two games the last three years. That sounds like the picture of health to me.

If he passes the physical it's a definite win for us!

As excited as I am to get Kiko Alonso, I'm that saddened to let a class act and unrealized yet talent like Biegel get out the door...

My only real concern here is that he has a reputation for dirty hits, which could be disastrous for us. All it takes is one personal foul penalty to really help an opposing offense on a drive.

Or one nasty hit to have Matt Ryan carried off the field.

And I'm saying nasty, not dirty.

I had the same initial reaction but only evidence I've seen is the Flacco hit. Someone wrote that was Alonzo's only PF that season.

I still don't quite understand why the Dolphins would do this. I understand why the Saints would, but the Dolphins side makes no sense to me.

They’re cleaning house and going younger.

Starting over boss.

Being bad for a year or two might actually be better than being mediocre for a decade.

I guess the bottom line was that they didn't have a spot for him with the change of defensive philosophy, which puts more DBs on the field instead of customary three LBs.

Also, the young LB in their roster was viewed as a straight replacement if not an upgrade over him.

Dolphins were probably going to cut him if they couldn't have found a trading partner. With the trade they only have to pay 1M$ of his salary and are off the hook while also getting a promising young ST contributor in exchange.

It wasn't a bad deal for Miami even though it might seem like it from our point of view.

Sometimes that is a lockeroom thing... We are talking about a locker room that once condoned the likes of Richie Incognito, as well as Ndamukong Suh.

Dolphins LB was looked as "upgrade" over Alonso? What's this guy's name?

And when that happens its usually better to move that guy and get something, anything, in return rather than having to cut someone that has become a disruption.
