Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
"In their Monday Night Football game, Ramczyk took his usual spot at right tackle, directly across from Watt, who has played from left end as well as anyone in NFL history. And Ramczyk shut him down.
Check the box score; you won’t find Watt listed with any stats. He didn’t sack Brees once or even lay hands on him throughout the game, largely thanks to Ramczyk’s efforts. In fact, Watt was unable to record one tackle or one quarterback hit for the first time in his 105 career games played, per*NFL Research. Ramczyk neutralized him." https://saintswire.usatoday.com/2019...ans-stats-nfl/ XLIV CHAMPS |
Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
Clowney was a massive loss. They rolled the dice but it was a stupid roll. Their DL was their strength. Hopkins can't hold them together the entire season and Watson got sacked 5 times. Not going to work. Have to have the lines to compete. Saints won this one in the trenches.

Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
Ramczyk played a great game. Looked good in the running game too. He looks more athletic this year than last.

Great game!

Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
Ramczyk just put the NFL on notice. When you SHUT DOWN one of NFL's premier defensive ends...it make a statement. If he maintains this level of play the Saint's can lay claim to the NFL's best tandem of tackles.

Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
He's the best right tackle in the NFL.

Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
In the loss vs Saints, J.J. Watt failed to record at least 1 tackle or 1 QB hit for the first time in 105 career games.
https://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20190...Nav-2019090900 I think the Saints got the right tackle position figured out. |

Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
Ramczyk had one negative play - a holding penalty, and most other players on most other teams, it likely isn't called, barely a holding penalty as the defender was still engaged, leaning into Ram's chest...
Said it pre-game and post-game, send a Badger to stop a Badger... |
Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
I want to believe this is 100%, and not that Watt isnt completely recovered.
Dont get me wrong, I"m happy about it! Say this for Watt... few years back, was watching them from the nosebleeds in Houston, and it was one of our more disappointing games. Watt, at point, had a clear shot, and then a complete hold of Brees, and elected to softly (and this is before today's Pu$$if$$d rules) land him down for the sack, minus the decapitation, a la Merlin Olsen (google him, kids). You get tired of hearing about him in Houston, but I saw immediately, what people see in him. GREAT WORK, RAMCZYK! |
Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
Saints are a small market team however analyst(s) need to recognize that Ryan Ramz is no ordinary right tackle. 1st rounder. Maybe they need to watch more Brian Baldinger's tweets when evaluates players in the trenches :p.
Terrific game plan by coach Dan Roushar & execution by Ryan. What makes Sean P one of the offensive master minds is that he effectively ran away from JJ Watt a lot on Monday night. Watch how they isolate Aaron Donald on Sunday. |
Re: Ramczyk Shuts Out Watt
JJ Watt said "stop badgering me."
