AROUND SAINTS CAMP
AROUND SAINTS CAMP: The roster appears set for the start of training camp. It's still possible the club could add a veteran linebacker to the mix, but it's remote. Team officials were expected to attend Peter Boulware's workout in Tallahassee, Fla., on Thursday but chose not to attend. Boulware's questionable health and $2 millon asking price do not fit into the Saints' plans. The club has also expressed interest in ex-Seahawks veteran Anthony Simmons, but some inside the organization are wary of his reputation as a high-maintenance player. . . . Senior football administrator Russ Ball, one of the rising stars in the league, was one of several select NFL executives to recently complete a weeklong management program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Former Saints executive and New Orleans native Omar Khan, the business operations coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, also participated in the program. . . . Congratulations to director of ticket sales Mike Stanfield on the birth of his first child, 5-pound, 14-ounce Olivia Grace, on July 8.

It' good to see something other then the
AB bashing threads! Anyway, I don't feel we need a LB as much as we need a DT. I think Watson, Bockwoldt will improve even more IF our D-line can play at the same level they did in the last 4 games of last year!!! 8) |
I don't think we need a D if AB was a good QB... LOL.
|
well i like our lb's if they improve. i guesss im nuts
|
I'm with you spkb.......our LB's were warriors at the end of the year..
Everyone forgets the first Atlanta Game.....we were very much in that game..(even with Ronny) Craft was pushed(no-call) and Crumpler scored the winning TD. Our LB's are just fine.............<ching> |
i agree. everyone would like a stud but i like these young guys. i especially like bockwoldt

WAKE UP PEOPLE
I don't think our LB's are "just fine." I mean holy crap, we had the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL, and we are returning all of the same guys. Honestly, how can you say that these guys were warriors? Warriors of sucking ass maybe. Sure they played decent towards the end of the season, but that was against lesser opponents (except the Carolina game which was actually a good game). I like the PROMISE and TALENT that some of these guys have, but the simple fact is that these guys didn't do crap last season to stop the run or the pass, or make any big plays to get us to the playoffs. IMO, the LBs are the weakest position on the team. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, and I hope they do, but ranking dead last in the NFL in defense doesn't impress me and make me want to refer to them as "studs" and "warriors." |
