Week 3 - Seahawks
As I hear it, the team is not going back to New Orleans this week and will be staying on the West Coast. Drew is staying in LA today to see a hand specialist.
This week brings both problems and opportunity. On the down side, in all likely hood Drew will not play against the Seahawks, so some QB will get an opportunity to write his future. A lot of work will need to be done as I am assuming each QB has a particular game plan. On the upside, everything Seattle was expecting to study just became obsolete or at the least they have 3 times the homework this week as who will start is theoretically an unknown at this point. As Saints fans we are in a very unique situation, one that we have not seen in many years, what will our offense look like this week?:bng: |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
Thanks for this post.
Gotta somewhat digest the Rams debacle, clean up a lot of areas (specifically the O line) and move on to Seattle. They won't feel sorry for us on Sunday. I thought DEFENSIVELY, we did a lot of good (held Rams under 4 ypc). Build on that... |

I see this week as a proverbial half time for Sean Payton... Does he go into Seattle and execute a game-plan that no one on the face of this earth would expect? For me this is a much more interesting discussion, the possibilities are endless. |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
Brees goes down and the refs cost the Saints 7 points against a top NFL team on the road and the game was close until the end. I expect a solid effort against the Seahawks.

TB running Drew's offense? Lots of Kamara? Do you run heavy and give TB time to catch up? When your Hall of Fame QB goes down, it opens the playbook up lol |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
I just noticed something. No wonder Saints are sucking. their lifetime playoff record is 9-11

In my opinion this should include more roll outs. Move the pocket for Teddy. Defenses will be playing to stop the run until Teddy proves he can throw the ball so I imagine we will see plenty of 8 men fronts until Teddy completes some down field passes. I think we will be alright this week against the sea chickens. Dallas was going to be a struggle with Drew but they also lost a receiver on Sunday in Gallup (sic). I think we can go 4-2 without Drew maybe even 5-1 if the defense stops giving up the big play. |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
I think it will be heavy heavy pass. Almost no running the whole game. A couple of splash plays and we have a game.

Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
The line looked like crap and Peat looks out of shape that is very much an issue. AN O-Line doesn't have a setback, they get beat, and we got beat.
Its interesting how focus changes isn't it? If Drew were healthy game planning would be centered around playing the Seahawks; Drew isn't so we are trying to figure out how to be the Saints.... more focus on how we will play instead of who we will play. Some times the same question but from a different direction yields a different answer. Instead of how you would be Sean Payton, figure out how you would game plan if you were Pete Carroll. |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
This will be a rough ride.
I see us losing 31-17. By 14 at least. it will be close early but I think turnovers will doom us. |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
This will probably be another chest clutcher that goes down to the wire. I'm too old for this....

We didn't do much to fix it in the off season. Payton was more worried about exhausting our victimhood wanting rule changes and the never-ending complaints about the non-call. I don't even think they game-planned for Aaron Donald; whom was all over Brees before he got hurt and couldn't be contained all day. |

I'm not predicting a win, but I think Teddy is going to play better. I think the whole team will play better, and I also think the refs will not have been instructed to control this game given we are not playing the darling team from LA... |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
Oh good... can’t wait to see Marcus Williams not even on the screen again on more deep passes. |
Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
Word on the street is that Rankins will be back Sunday.

Re: Week 3 - Seahawks
Not sold on Seattle ... especially considering how they "escaped" two weeks straight against the likes of Cincy and Steelers.
Anyone who thinks the Saints will fold up the tent on Sunday is seriously underestimating our players and coaches. We'll be ready 100%. |

Dislike Teddy as a QB all you want, but there’s no denying the heart of this guy. He’s a class act. |
