Swatting?
 

The way Aaron Donald injured Brees seems like the perfect crime. Come in late trying to knock down a pass, focus on the QBs outstretched fingers not the ball, and slam straight in with the force with your entire body behind the open handed swat. Its after the play, its likely to cause injury, but you won’t get caught. There were no rules deaigned to punish it adequately. If you hit the kickers foot after a kick you are penalized but the QBs hand after the pass is fair game, incidental, just trying for the block even if serious injury ensues. Maybe we should start coaching this for the next time we play one of Roger’s teams?

It’s part of football quit whining. It’s a contact sport things are going to happen and injuries occur. If a player is playing hurt opposing teams will target the area of the injury on every play. It’s not only common but it’s expected. Do you want them to away with any play that could possibly result in a QB injury?
It’s football and Donald made an excellent play. It’s the reason we watch.

Thinking of last year though, everyone in the media talking about the Drew Brees INT, nobody talking about the fact that he was swatted across the face when he threw it. That was an obvious penalty last year, and yet it just gets neglected. If it was equally officiated that'd be one thing, I'd say it's a part of football and be done with it, but if that was Brady or Goff, the entire field would have been yellow.

No problem with the play by Donald but there is a clip of a defender trying to
trip Taysom as he's coming off the LOS that I have a problem with and also the ripping of Harris's helmet off by the facemask.

Although most of the game was called to benefit the Rams, I can't agree with you here. It was not a malicious play imo. He was just trying to knock the ball down. He did what he was taught from the age of 5.

I don't think it was an intentional injury. It's something that simply happened out of circumstance of the play and situation. And I agree, Donald made an excellent play. If anyone wants to be mad over something, blame the o-line and the coaches who did a poor job gameplanning. Payton had his fit about the o-line, but he sure didn't have them prepared for possibly the best DE in the league rushing at Brees.

Between Bountygate and the non-call; our fan base has completely broken their brains with conspiracy nonsense, lawsuits, wanting rule changes, and so on. We've become like the Vikings fans we used to hate dealing with after 2009, whom had the same conspiracy nonsense, except they blamed our SB win on a hurricane. We just act like Roger Goodell is some Lex Luthor type super villain, despite him never showing any intelligence whatsoever to make the league look better.

The conspiracy theories and fak new claiming and stuff like that is becoming a scourge, not only to the NFL but on society in general.
