I keep telling myself to take a deep breath and relax. It doesn't seem to help much though.

During time Brees is away, roll with Bridgewater...

If it's evident he'll be no more than a conservative, Brad-Johnson, check-down, ball-control passer who, one, won't throw it downfield, and two, won't run for the first down - then he limits the offense...

So, if his play has had no positive-WAR, why not take this Drew-less time to evaluate Taysom to see if the PreSeason was a fluke, or if he's the real deal...

If players genuinely rally to him, a must to win in the NFL, then you have to discover that now - otherwise you miss opportunities to take a replacement for the position in the next couple of drafts...

Several reasons:
1. It's week 3 and we're 1-1.
2. Not long ago Teddy won 11 games with a defense similar to this one
3. Teddy is a QB, Taysom is a do-it-all player
4. Teddy gets an entire week of practice & prep with the 1s
5. Payton crafts a game plan for Teddy's strengths not Drew's

This ++ because to me, it doesn’t even look like Teddy believes, which is a shame. Teddy is trying to be perfect, which paralyzes him.

Hill basically seems to do whatever it takes and asks forgiveness later.

I would gladly be wrong about it, but this is what I see

The more Teddy plays, the better Teddy will play. He isn't going to play like Brees and fans shouldn't expect him to. We are down a few men at WR right now & our O line played poorly. As a result, Kamara and Murray in the run game disappeared.

Time to move on and prepare for the Seachickens on Sunday and leave that place with a dubya.

Errr... He's the #3 QB unless we make a trade.

As per those highlights - without the very start - TB is much more than a "gamemanager" or "check-down king" or whatever unfavorable description we can come up with.

He has a strong arm and can be very accurate - just check out some of those tight windows he throws to and the sideline throws. He can go over the top, which is shown in the video, and in that one throw the ball is in the air for 50 yards.

He doesn't have the quickest release and needs proctection from the O-line while making his reads. On the other hand, he can make some really good throws while moving and that is something Payton can exploit by changing his launch-point to help with the protection - bootlegs will be especially effective if Kamara gets hot in the running game.

All I'm saying is that there's a good football player there, who is much more ready to take on the responsibility that comes with the QB position than Hill.

That TB film clip FinSaint uploaded says otherwise.

Yeah, but that TB clip was from two-three years ago. Pre-injury. A lot has changed since then. I guess we'll find out what he's got to offer on Sunday. I'm the first to admit I don't watch every single snap of preseason llke a hawk, but I don't recall him running for a first down, in preseason -- though I might have been in the other room getting a beer or flipping a load of laundry when he did. Taysom on the other hand, would take off running for the sticks and move the chains quite often.

That can be a crutch. Hill doesn't seem to be able be patient enough to go through his progressions - if the first read isn't there, he is likely to take off.

Bridgewater and Hill are very different QBs and the Saints would be wise to use both as they go forward, but TB should be the #1 option.
