this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think Teddy will play well. But, if Brees told me he was ready next week, even if his reasoning was he had taught himself to throw left handed, he would be back under center....

I think the Dude needs to go in the blue tent and get asked some math questions. What stadium are you in, Dude? Who is president? What's your zip code? What's 7 + 6? What day is it? Stuff like that.

Re: What if Teddy does well while Brees is out?
Brees giving Teddy space was the right move. Teddy needed to feel like he was the person in charge directing things. If Drew hung over his shoulder on everything, it may restrict Teddy's ability to think for himself. No two QBs should ever view the field in the exact same way, cause no two QBs are comfortable with the same things. Just look at what happened with the Eagles when Wentz was injured v.s. when Wentz played. Foles threw to Alshon Jefferies more than any other player on the roster... made him look like a pro-bowler, whereas Wentz doesn't take advantage of him nearly as much and Jefferies just looks like another person on the roster. Guys look at things much differently, and Brees trying to force Teddy into seeing things the way he does could be detrimental.

I wondered why this thread has so many replies then I read The Dudes response and understood.
Back to business. If Teddy does well you put Drew back in. Nothing to see here. Move along. Nothing to see here. |

Re: What if Teddy does well while Brees is out?
What if...? Really there are three options in my humble opinion.
1. Teddy stinks it up and will be gone after the season. 2. Teddy does enough to get by and could be considered a stop-gap QB while we draft/develop the next one. 3. Teddy plays lights out and shows that he is indeed the successor to Brees. |

I think the issue with why Payton is hesitant on using Hill is his accuracy. Bridgewater has accuracy but he seems scared to throw the ball, we shall see how this ride goes.

Re: What if Teddy does well while Brees is out?
What if Teddy is SO GOOD, we have to decide whether to let Drew back in the starting lineup?
What if my Schmenke grows so huge overnight, I cant zip my pants up, and I have to go to the tall and fat store to find something that can contain him, and then I can quit my jobs and go into the movie biz? What if? We'll open our unicorn petting zoo later, ok? Let us cross that imaginary bridge, when we get there. -- actually, its a fun, but ludicrous topic-- and this-is-Amerca, so keep em coming. |
