Question about our secondary

For the first time in a long time we have a pass rush. Surprisingly one of the best in the league. I would think our secondary would look a lot better as a result. A good pass rush can cover up some deficiencies in the secondary and make them look better than they are. Why do we seem to be struggling? Is it the type of coverage. Surely they can’t be THAT bad.

I don't know, but we can't let these great efforts by Cameron Jordan go to waste. He has been playing out of his god damn mind.

I'm looking at Dennis Allen out of the corner of my eye.

Deion stated it last week after Sunday's game ..

"Saints corners play not to get beat and not the ball".

Lol and they still end up getting horrendously beat.

Lattimore is playing turrible at the moment. Havent seen him contest a pass yet.

Our FS is horrendous. Marcus Williams is very near the end of his run as the starter. Last week against the Rams we started playing Vonn Bell deeper because nobody trusts Williams anymore.

I'm 100% sure that's not the case

He doesn’t trust his instincts anymore. He’s consistently out of position and late to read and react. I hope he can turn it around, but I’m seeing a guy who needs a fresh start somewhere else.

Yep and will end up an All Pro elsewhere like M Jenkins.

He just hadn't been right since that whiff of a tackle in Minnesota.

But part of this is on the D Coordinator Dennis Allen. He has yet to successfully scheme up to players strengths.
We have too many high round draft picks on the back end to play this poorly.

I just don't understand why Allen's name doesn't come up more on these poor (lack of tackling and technique) showings on the back end.

I was getting laughed at when I expressed concerns about Williams last year — but I just keep reminding myself, “he’s the next Ed Reed.”

According to camp reporters...

They’ll settle in. Look it’s a fact of life - Eli and PJ will get beat a couple times each game. You just hope it’s not for TDs

When I saw the blanket coverage the rams were-putting on our prolific offense ? There wasn’t a foot separation between them It was De ja veaux from the playoffs again. I wanted to scream. Just dam jealous I guessWe can’t or won’t run that type of D. For a reason.

Because we have only played two games and for the past two years we have fielded a defense far superior than any we have had in quite some time.
By game 4 if this is still happening I will start playing the bust card.
I do question why his defenses have consistently started the first two games of the season slow.
