Gems from the Gem State: For these 6 Saints, the road to New Orleans began in Idaho

I live just west of Pocatello and Blackfoot. Been here for most of my life, although most my roots are down south still. I was born in Baton Rouge and most of my extended family still lives in Louisiana and Alabama.

I like seeing these smaller programs produce football players. I played some high school football against Highland and Pocatello. They always have great teams. It was fun playing varsity games at BSU, Moscow and the other college campuses.

Not alot of people in this state. And its something I've grown to appreciate. Especially as a hunter and fisherman.

But the winters here can brutal.
