10-3 vs Dallas since 1998
Since 1998, the Saints are 10-3 over the Cowboys.
The Saints are 10th in winning percentage at .535 since 1998. Dallas is 11th at .532. Unlike Dallas, the Saints have won a Super Bowl since 1998. Also, they beat Dallas last night without scoring a TD. Credit to B&G Report on Twitter - https://twitter.com/BnGreview |
Re: 10-3 vs Dallas since 1998
I've been saying this for years.... Payton always pulls out all the stops against the Cowboys. They had him in-house, he solved their quarterback mess and basically developed Tony Romo....the Cowboys could have made him their next head coach, from the Parcells tree, but they didn't, so Payton came here....that first year Payton played the Cowboys, 2006 in prime time, the Saints rolled over the Cowboys something like 42-17, and Payton kept his foot on the gas the whole entire night. Saints/Cowboys have always been some of the most memorable games in the Payton era, and this was yet another one.

Only reason they are decent is because they've drafted well for the past several years. That's about the only thing Jerry does right. I hope they keep Garrett employed forever. 9 years and all he has achieved is 2 wildcard playoff wins. Their roster is stacked this year and they could make a deep playoff run, but he'll be what prevents them from it. Don't matter how well they draft, they're coached by a moron. |
Re: 10-3 vs Dallas since 1998
Our only losses to Dallas are the following -
2009 Saturday night game at the dome. We were bound to eventually lose after starting 13-0. This loss never really bothered me much and we at least made it look closer than it truly was. 2014 Sunday night game in Jerryworld where we got destroyed. A humiliating loss, the less said the better. 2018 Thursday night game in Jerryworld, the nightmare from last year yet we still made it close. These are the only years Dallas has won playoff games since 1996. They still have yet to reach the NFCCG. Jason Garrett is among the longest employed coaches in the NFL right now, yet he's the only one to never reach the conference title game. Tomlin, Payton and Bill Belichick have all been recently. Dallas hasn't been there since 1995. |

I honestly dont understand why alot of teams lose to them, they so 1 dimensional, although have drafted well on Defense in recent past. It was the same last year, stop Amari, focus on Zeke, make Dak beat you, pretty simple formula. I never understood how a coach who was once a backup QB to Troy Aikman in the day, is able to be so bad in building an offense or any offensive chemistry. |

Garrett would've been fired from another team after that epic show of incompetence in the 2016 playoffs. That final drive was ridiculous; he played for a field goal, rather than a TD and then screwed up the clock. I know Cowboys fans who were predicting he would find a way to screw up that playoff game cause they know this. They've went through years of it. A 13-3 season and a chance to play in the SB just a few hours south down in Houston? Leave it to Garrett to blow it. Their team is stacked this year, but he'll be the reason they don't go far. Then Jerry will give him a contract extension like before. All the Dallas homers will defend Landry in training. |

I will never forget the game Emmitt Smith was going for the record. Ended up with -3 rushing yards lol! I think we also got a safety on what's his face crap announcer now.

Jerry's Dallas = Mecom's Saints. Meddling owners who thought they knew "football"

The game we humiliated Jeff George in Oakland was a favorite of mine too. |

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Beating Dallas is always sweet.

Moore did not call the game against us. Garrett did. Every time there is a big game, Garrett calls the offense to try and look like a genius. That's partly what lost them that big playoff game in 2016 to Green Bay. All year long, they let Lineham run a scheme based on play action and running the ball. In the playoffs, Garrett ditched that for his Romo offense (not much running, lots of shotgun plays and trips formations). That explains why they went 4 wide on the final drive and sat their 1,000+ yard rusher on the sideline, then played for a field goal. Garrett is the one who told Dak to spike that ball with 2 timeouts left and go for the field goal, rather than punching it down GB's throat and winning the game. The weird thing is; Jerry and his son have managed to draft pretty well in the past decade. Dallas has nailed most of their defensive picks and they snagged an ex-Seattle coach to put on the defensive coaching staff. Yet they're still led by a moron in Garrett and they have Marinelli as DC who's only accomplishments are the 0-16 Lions and the fluke year the Bears were in the NFCCG. With the right coaching staff, this year's Dallas team could be very dangerous. But they'll be held back cause of Garrett and that's a great thing. |
