One of the things I been afraid of about the Bucs

May be finally happening.

They hired Bruce Arians who is no slouch for a HC.

If they were to ever right Winstons ship or find a suitable QB replacement similar to what we saw with Fitzpatrick for a couple games, we know how dangerous they can be because of the WR talent they got, the only thing they dont have is a decent RB.

The question remains can teams bring out the INT Machine Winston?

Re: One of the things I been afraid of about the Bucs

Tampa has 3 very good linebackers as well.

DC Todd Bowles has that team headed in the right direction.

Re: One of the things I been afraid of about the Bucs

I do believe we are overreacting to the Tampa win yesterday.

The Rams were winning with smoke and mirrors the first 3 weeks. They got exposed finally, with Gurley being about 50% of his former self and Goff showing that he is a truly mediocre QB when he has to carry the load.

This is going to be the same old crappy turnover machine that is Winston in these next 12 games. Their defense is middling.

I expect 2 interceptions and a sack fumble from Winston this coming weekend.

Saints 30, Bucs 20.

Re: One of the things I been afraid of about the Bucs

The bucs have a RB in Ronald Jones.. he is slowly taking over carries and has been very productive, think he is averaging over 5ypc.

The Bucs are the biggest threat in the division. They have 2 weak spots; a hot and cold QB and a weak secondary.

You put up 50 pts on ANY team in the NFL and you are going to contend. While I do think the Rams are an average team this year I think the Bucs are for real and will be our main competition.
We never play well against them.

Contend with what?

Inconsistency?

That's all the Bucs have been with Winston at the helm.

He's a mess and he'll continue to be a mess. The kid is a moron.

Arians tapped his old NFC West notes for this game.

Bucs d line is a force. LBs are fast.

Yes Winston is fragile but with the right coach he could be dangerous.

This will be a fight.

Winston is a very Jekyll and Hyde QB though. He'll be hot one week, then awful the next. Despite having a huge game, he still threw one of the most hilariously bad INTs you'll ever see.

They are basically running Arians "drop back and throw bombs all day" offense. It worked last week, will it work again this week? We don't know yet.

Their defense scares me more so than their offense.

I agree here. Goff has not been the same QB since the Bears loss last year and later the SB where New England basically just ran the same gameplan of confusing him.

Gurley had less than 10 carries against the Bucs. He is probably going to retire after this year.

The Rams were long overdue to slam into a brick wall. It's going to get worse as time goes on.

I think we beat the Bucs by grinding it out into another defensive slug fest. Their LBs frighten me much more than Winston does.

I see us getting burnt early, settle down and put Winston in a pressure cooker. They won't be able to run or do jack squat. Winston gets flustered and gives the game away on one of the most moronic pick 6's of the season. It will be close though.

I’m worried. Styles make fights. If they drop back and throw bombs all day then they’re attacking our weakness. They also can get pressure on the QB. We have to slow this game down.

A couple of methodical drives down there throats will bring them back to who they really are. Bottom dwellers

They give up 30 points a game and lost at home to the NYG who were missing Barkley for a half

Our offense will have a big day.
The defense just shut down Cooper, Elliot, and Prescott. I'll take Evans over Cooper, but Jones and Winston are jokes

I agree. Jury is still out on Jones though, he could turn out good.

Tampa's defense, specifically their LBs concern me.

Winston truly is the modern day Jeff George... Hot and cold; one game he looks like the next elite QB, the next he is throwing bombs to defensive backs.

Surprised they managed as long as they have, because Goff certainly been the weak link of that offense. But it looked like that since last year and had a few miracles to get them through everything. **** our game in L.A. against them was close until the defense got tired out in the 4th, between that and penalties or penalties not called like Kupps facemask on Lattimore, Goff really didnt do anything then either. Im more amazed how the Rams have stacked ass team on defense and still cannot stop anyone.

SP better have a TE in the blocking scheme with Shaquil Barrett. That dude is on FIRE!!!

9 Sacks, 20 Tackles, 3 Forced Fumbles, and an INT in just 4 games?

Teddy better find a way to get that ball out quick this week and not just to check downs!!!

One concern for me is our, at times, porous secondary. It does make me realize how good our front seven are.

My hope is that the Saints front seven do enough to disrupt and confuse Shameless so that he doesn't even get the opportunities to pick apart a sometimes weak secondary.

Re: One of the things I been afraid of about the Bucs

I'm not able to break it down into an official, easily to understand, historical stat, but there is a LONG history of teams laying an egg the week after they have a really outstanding, bell-ringing, jaw-dropping effort, or big upset victory in a game the week before. Especially if the team is middle of the pack and mediocre, and is not like a powerhouse Pats, Packers, Steelers type consistent winner or dynasty type franchise.

The Bucs blew their wad last week, that was their Super Bowl, it was a huge beatdown ,and they expended a tremendous amount of effort in blowing out the Rams, so I have a feeling they will naturally be down a notch or two this week, just because they blew out so much energy pounding the Rams all day long.

If they had beaten the Rams 28-24 last week, in a squeaker, they would be much more dangerous and scary to me, going up against these Saints, if you get what I mean.

But when you ring the gong and blow somebody out, drop a 50 burger on a team from last year's Super Bowl, it's actually very hard to come back the next week and sustain that same level of energy and play "over your head" for a second time in a row. We'll see how they do against the Saints D.

The Rams have managed this long cause they're still playing cupcakes.

Their division was a joke last year. They got to beat up on 2 dumpster fire teams and the Seahawks practically gift-wrapped them a win in Seattle with Pete Carroll's time out on 4th down with the last drive. Russell Wilson gave them the other win in L.A. by not being able to throw an accurate pass down field on the final drive.

Goff hasn't been the same since that Bears loss where he was thoroughly exposed, but it was OK cause they still had a bunch of trash teams in their schedule. The Pats literally ran the same gameplan the Bears did and they held them without a touchdown in the SB. The Pats also dropped 3 INTs and that game could've been a bloodbath if Brady wasn't 41 years old and looked it that night.

They finally ran into another team that completely exposed Goff and McVay's offense. It's going to happen again, but it helps when you play in the NFC West. Everyone loves to whine and moan about the Pats in the AFC East, but the NFC West, NFC North and AFC West are pretty bad divisions too dominated by a single team. Kansas City has been benefiting from a trash division ever since the Broncos collapsed, but no one ever brings it up about them and all their home playoff losses.

No one knows for sure yet if the Niners are for real. The Seahawks are good for 8 wins but I'll never trust that team with some of the mistakes Carroll makes. Arizona is a dumpster fire (LOL at the thought that Josh Rosen might end up being marginally better than Kyler Murray by the look of things so far). The NFC West could be bad again and that would help the Rams back into the playoffs.

I believe this is the information you are looking for -

What Happens After The Blowout?

Quote:

In 2011, the Colts were the worst team in the NFL. During mid-season of the year that would be remembered as the ‘Suck 4 Luck’ campaign, Indianapolis reached its lowest moment on national television against the Saints. Facing the high powered New Orleans offense and Drew Brees, it was a mismatch from the opening gun: New Orleans won 62-7.
This was a very good Saints team — that win brought New Orleans to 5-2 — and if you were picking a team to win the next week, you probably would have picked the Saints. The Saints were favored by 14 points against the Rams, but were upset, 31-21.

In 2014, the Matt Ryan-led Atlanta Falcons dominated the Bucs in a Thursday Night massacre. Atlanta won 56-14 in a game where the victors produced a record Game Script of 32.6! At 2-1, Atlanta looked like a team on the rise, but the Falcons lost in Minnesota the next week as 3-point favorites.

It feels inconceivable that a team could look so good one week and lose the next. And even more common is the team on the losing end of a humiliating loss turning things around immediately.

In recent years, the three worst blowouts were the Rams crushing the Raiders 52-0 in 2014, the Falcons demolition against the Bucs described above, and a 58-0 win by Seattle against the Cardinals. The very next week, Oakland, Tampa Bay, and Arizona not only all won, but all won as touchdown underdogs!

Im going to reiterate what I liked . On previous post. I’m convinced the bucs are nothing but trash that flashed and will come back down to earth in the dome. Our defense will pick up where they left off Sunday nite. What I saw in the bucks against the panthers and giants is what they are .

Just a thought I had on this Saints (post Brees injury) team for 2019 ...

Beating the hated (as least for me) Cows WITHOUT #9 puts a feather in their cap. Those 53 guys will understand late in the year when they may have to go outside on the road in the playoffs, if we get into a tough game they understand they don't have to outscore everyone.

When we face the better teams, being mentally tough could give us the edge.

Let's continue to take care of business and the Bucs on Sunday.
