Sounds like he is parroting exactly what Cam Jordon says all the time. Looks like he is really taking it all in from his mentor.
I had my doubts, and still do but there is no doubt he is getting better.

With all the pressure(s) that Davenport has been getting, I'd be curious to see what would happen if Davenport switch with Jordan and opposing quarterbacks saw that pressure in their face vs their blind-side...

I think that will be the next step as he progresses. Them being able to flip sides between play, all of a sudden lining up at 3-tech and so on. OL and QB never being able to really keep track of 'em.

It’s wild how much they have Davenport doing. I’ve noticed a few plays where he’s lined up at Mike LB. He really is a very smart player.

I've noticed a few times when he's gotten really close, because hes so tall he sometimes over reaches for the QB and ends up missing them completely.

If he could lower his pad level just a little, he would start getting more sacks.

I get moving a pass rusher around - coaches recognize mental fatigue as well as physical on a pass rusher, giving a pass rusher different looks, keeps him fresh...

Plus, it also put's pressure on the offensive linemen, who can't get set into a routine vs a familiar opponent, now they've got to make adjustments and lends to creating confusion for them as well...

Sounds like he could be worth "two firsts and a fifth", huh?

;)

Nobody will ever admit that.

I will, so that means it isn't nobody.

I'm sick of close as well.

Pressures are awesome but if he can't turn into an elite sack artist, the trade up was not warranted.

Did you not watch Davenport last week vs Dallas? Effectively setting the edge. He had 9 hurries on Dak Bortles and an effective bull rush on an All Pro tackle who literally held him most of the second half. Davenport is a monster.

Not sure which games you've been watching.

Oh I'm not saying he's a bust. Far from it.

I am saying that he needs to set the world on fire to make giving up 2 first round picks in order to draft him was worth it.

We pushed around one of the best o-lines in football last week. I bet nobody is questioning this pick now. We have great exterior and interior D-linemen. We have at the very least one of the top 5 d-lines in football(I think that's underrating it). I look forward to turning Winston into crab paste.

You are acting like those two first rounders were high first rounders. They were both near the very bottom and were turned into an upper half of the first. Value wise according to the chart we came close to coming out even.

Do you even watch games? Serious question. The past two weeks he's made his presence regardless of stats. Smith held him numerous times last week without any holding calls that were blatant.

He never left. Davenport has been solid Day 1. Only a minor injury held him back in 2018.

4 games into the season, 4 solid performances thus far.

Solid draft pick and worth whatever the Saints front office did to go get him.

Glad he's on my team.

Hell yeah! He plays like a grown man, can rush with speed and power, sets the edge. He still has a lot of room for growth in the mental aspect of the game but darn he is good allready.

Oh, he had two sacks against the Bucs too...
