How a simple reminder changed everything for Saints QB Teddy Bridgewater: 'Winners win'
1 Attachment(s)
Sometimes, something as simple as a two-word reminder can alter one’s own perception of what’s truly important.
A phone lights up with a text from a friend from back home, the one the famous quarterback has known since fourth grade, with these words to help get through hard times: Winners win. There may have been a time when Teddy Bridgewater would have found a way to be upset after his two most recent performances with the New Orleans Saints, when the sour aftertaste of a middling showing in the box score would have canceled out some of victory’s sweetness. Not anymore, though. Not after what he’s been through and what he’s learned about himself in the process. Not after fully realizing the joy that can be found in putting the group’s success above the individual’s. https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.town...=crop%2Cresize Quote:

It's invaluable to have guys in the locker room who have a sense of gratitude and perspective. Guys play for each other.

Good piece!
Stats wise, TB is playing his best football ever right now, with a small sample of course this year. His best year with the Vikings he completed 65.3% of his passes with 14/9 TD/INT ratio and a passer rating of 88.7. So far this year he is completing 70.2% of his passes with 6/2 TD INT ratio and a passer rating of 99.5. That is a remarkable difference. |

I, for one, am glad Teddy starting playing football instead of trying to safely manage the QB position.

Circling back to that 8/9 pre season game vs Vikes ... I watched the game on an Minneapolis affiliate to get a different perspective on our team and the Vikes announcers praised Teddy and his ability to play in rhythm. Again, key word here is rhythm.
Has great touch on the ball, intelligent, film junkie & composure. Just like any other QB at this level, it just takes a little time before you get into your groove. |
