Brady and passing yards

How many passing yards is Brady behind Brees? If Brees loses this distinction to Tom Brady, it's gonna bother me. They're both still playing now, but I have a feeling this gonna come to a head a couple of years from now.

Yea... because Brady isn't retiring until he loses another Superbowl. :pissed:

Brady is riding that super car defense to the finish line. If not for that rushing TD (which his OL had to use extreme force to get him in the EZ) his stats were weak. Pathetic actually.

Brees is losing hardly any ground in the record dept.

I think you guys are thinking TDs... Brady is +5 over Drew.

In career passing yards, Brady is +/- 3k behind Brees (2,922). That is nearly a season.

Brady is playing well and is in great shape. The rules favor longer careers for QB's. But, just on the eye test, he is looking more and more like a 42+ year old guy playing in the NFL. There's no way he makes it to starting at 44.

Re: Brady and passing yards

Taysom Hill is going to extend Brees' shelf life on the field, which is an "X" factor that Brady doesn't have. Even last year, Payton had started putting Taysom in the game for a couple plays on drives, mostly in the midfield area between the 30 yard lines, to get a couple first downs, keep the ball moving, and then put Drew back in to finish the drive with laser focus.

It's hard to say because it's still so early in the season, but Brady is starting to look more like a mere mortal, back there. He's still great, just visibly not AS great as he used to be.

Those two have a handful of records that they are neck in neck on, and basically whoever hangs up the cleats last, will probably have the final say and hold those records. Last man standing will probably win those accolades.

2015 Peyton Manning waves hi.

This is why these guys are not going to play until they are 45. Brady declined last year and so far this year, he looks like 2015 Peyton Manning. He just might not have that AWFUL game like Peyton had vs Kansas City where he had more INTs than completed passes.

Brees' records don't mean much to me. I want another ring and that's it. Records are made to be broken.

Brady is not playing well this year.

He didn't much last year. Any throw beyond 10 yards was basically him throwing it up for grabs. That hasn't improved this year, where he ranks poorly in contest throws. Unless the receiver is wide ass open down field, he's missing them.

The Pats tweak their offense every year and since the beginning of 2018, they've been running an offense that relies heavily on the run game, as a way to mask Brady's diminishing arm strength.

No one pays attention to this though cause HE'S GOT 6 RINGZZZZZ, HE'S THE GOAT.

This year's Pats team is pretty much a mirror image of the 2015 Broncos. That year Peyton Manning fell off a cliff and they relied on their defense to carry them. That was a special defense and they down right dominated and humiliated opposing QBs (Denver flat out broke Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton that year. Rodgers has never been the same again and Newton also declined hard after SB 50). But there was a major difference; Denver in the end needed a bit of help to get the #1 seed (thanks to the Pats losing to a crappy Philly team that year. Denver also needed some serious help to beat New England in the regular season, mainly thanks to special teams and defense). The AFC wasn't really weak that year which I think makes the 2015 Broncos even more special, they got through some legit good teams. In 2019, the AFC is a joke and New England will be able to get through it with ease.

Drew is too competitive to retire while Brady is still playing. He owns the records because of hard work and he plans to keep them. He still loves the game and this injury may give him the feeling that retirement can wait.

Payton has built this team to compete with a game manager. It can be Drew for a couple of more years. It could be Teddy or it could be someone else that Payton is keeping an eye on.

For some reason this one sentence brings to mind a few movie titles lol. Days of Thunder, Talladega Nights...
