Saints bringing Captain Munnerlyn in for a vist
The Saints continue to kick the tires on veteran cornerbacks, with the latest a guy they’re familiar with.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Saints are bringing former Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn in for a visit. Munnerlyn was in camp with the Bills this summer. The Saints are running short at cornerback at the moment, after Eli Apple (knee) was injured late in last week’s win over the Bears, and Patrick Robison (hamstring) also left the game. With P.J. Williams suspended another week, they need some short-term cover. PFT |

Captain is Drew's Old Buddy.
Here's a guy whatever team he plays for he is always Captain. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x26fu5e |

Never liked this guy as a player.
I wonder if JT Gray is seriously injured or a band aid for Apple? |
Re: Saints bringing Captain Munnerlyn in for a vist
We can't know for sure what's really happening, but sometimes Payton will bring in a familiar old timer for a trial workout at the end of their career, simply out of respect and to kick the tires and give him a shot. It's a part of the game. Payton and the team is certainly familiar with his body of work on film, as quite a few of his highlights have been against Drew and the Saints. But at the end of the day Sean Payton certainly respects veteran players, who have made a serious run in the NFL, and sometimes a phone call and a workout is a sign of that respect.

Reminds me of Mike McKenzie coming off the streets in the middle of 2009, we got some tread off that tire as I recall.
