Kenyan Drake
Latavius won't be here next year so why not. He's a good all purpose RB but he has been on a horrible team his whole career and he's still young.
I would do it. Might cost us a 3rd but we get a strong pass catching RB, good runner, still young and has a great attitude. Good luck finding that combination anywhere else. I don't think he has ever missed a game. |

Also, Murray would be $1-1/4 mil of dead money to release, so he'd have to be traded... |
Re: Kenyan Drake
Well that's not happening, losing all that coin. I do think Drake will be traded this week though. Probably just mulling over offers. If they don't before the deadline Miami has truly lost their minds.
They are not resigning him next year. Are they really going to let him walk if they can get something now. I find that impossible to believe. |

Who?

Re: Kenyan Drake
Just pick up Ozigbo when Jax releases him.

Re: Kenyan Drake
A third for Drake and take the cap hit for releasing Murray? Hard pass. He was drafted in the 3rd round and hasn’t produced anything so far in his career. The Dolphins practically gave him the keys when they traded Jay Ajayi to the Eagles. He hasn’t rushed for more than 50 yards in a game this season! And you are willing to give up a 3rd round pick?
What gives you any indication that Drake would be better than Murray? Murray was on some terrible team also and still produced at a better rate. Man, what did Murray do to you? |
Re: Kenyan Drake
Murray will be here next year and the team will sign a 3rd option in the offseason
Also you are admitting publicly to using a Madden team thats not the Saints! |

Idk why some people on here have a hard-on for him. Murray is the real deal and a former pro bowler. And you're right drake hasn't done jack. I wouldn't trade a seventh round pick for him. |
Re: Kenyan Drake
We don't need a TH we need a WR

Two years ago he had over 600 yards rushing, and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. Last year he had 535 rushing yards and averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and also had 73 catches for 477 yards and 5 touchdowns. And, as Beast said, this has all been with a bad team, where there really are no other respectable options for defenses to game plan for. I don't see the Saints pursuing him, because Kamara has the same skill set and is more dynamic, but if the Dolphins dangled him for next to nothing, he's not the type of player you pass on. |

If the Saints didn't have Alvin, I think Drake would be an excellent addition to their offense. |
Re: Kenyan Drake
I'm high on Murray. Every time he carries the ball he gets stronger. What's not to like? Oh, and he can catch the ball and looks good running to space. Besides, as was mentioned earlier he signed a four year deal.

Re: Kenyan Drake
After watching Murray beat the Bears defense senseless, I'm convinced he's a stud and we'd be moronic to get rid of him. I think Bridgewater has done an exceptional job filling in for Brees, but it wasn't until last week where he really looked like he was starting to pick apart the defense. This was because of Murray. Murray is much better at setting up the play action and we need to really give him the ball much more. That is the one thing we failed at in the first third of the season. Hopefully we realize now that we need to change the way we approach our RB situation after last week. I love Kamara, but he can't cause defenses to stack the box in the same way that Murray can.
|
Re: Kenyan Drake
Yes. With Murray establishing himself last week, we now need to take a bit of pressure off Kamara and go with a true Thunder and Lightning approach. Hit people like a hammer, god damn.

Re: Kenyan Drake
This would be for depth. Drake is a very good pass catching RB. Nobody said anything about ditching Murray. It would also be dirt cheap. I'm hearing a late round pick.
I didn't like the Murray move from the start but that is life. It didn't save us enough money to matter but Payton didn't know that at the time so no big deal. It was a good move in that context. |
Re: Kenyan Drake
Again though it's given draft picks away for a player that's a FA come the end of the season. The only advantage is losing him for a comp pick if he got a good deal elsewhere. With (soon to be) so many players on big contracts or upcoming FA can't be throwing away Draft capital

Re: Kenyan Drake
The RB pool is so thin right now. We almost had a scare ourselves. I say get him for depth. He's a good RB but never had a chance in Miami. Behind our OL and with Brees, if we needed him he's totally kill it.

Re: Kenyan Drake
Word is Arizona. Good for him. He's actually a good guy. He's not David Johnson but he should do ok over there with his pass catching skills.
