They sold it on racial equality. That was the main selling point. LSU & Tulane engineers designed the SD.
Saints were built to last for a long long time.

Disney almost came in and ruined it. We got a team and got to keep our adult party town.

Sadly the New Orleans Saints franchise is the result of Government graft and corruption.

Hale Boggs and Russel Long received a franchise in exchange for anti-trust immunity for Rozelle to merge the NFL/AFL. Neither the merger nor the franchise were approved on face value.

Dixon and Mecom Jr. are white, there is hardly racial equality there....
