Gordon is a Seahawk now so there's that.

Meanwhile it's time for Tre', Cook and Kirkwood (assuming he's close to returning) to earn their keep.

Just like Demario Davis says in those pre game chants ... "you want to take care of your brother, you gotta eat. You eat by making plays".

Hope those guys are hungry.

Too not even submit a claim is just stupid.

Maybe they looked at his history and how he cant lay off the dope....

Honestly, I see people going mad about this guy when his last full season was in 2013. The guy has a problem, he will be out of the league again soon.

Not stupid at all. And it wasn't dope related. I heard on NFL Radio that Gordon had showed up late for several meetings and refused to comply with all of Belichick's demands. Belichick and Payton have a pretty close friendship and I would be shocked if Payton hadn't had a chat with Bill about Gordon and decided to avoid him like the plague.

7 years he scored 6 times and never got close to 800 yds. I doubt the Seahawks use him for anything more than insurance. They already have 2 solid WR's. He was not going to help us.

No need to bring him in and add more stress to the locker room. Apparently we don't need the distraction.

I agree, but I didn't see the harm in what would be a half season deal. I'm guessing we weighed in with a former coach or teammate, got bad intel, and just moved on.

I'll guarantee you that former coach was Belichick himself. He and Payton are buddies.

I think the Pats prime motivation for letting Gordon go was to see what the rookie Harry can do before long. Probably the smart move for them.

100% agree and I told people this same thing last week.

When the Patriots don't want you, then something is wrong. NE has been so desperate at WR, they traded for Brown and later got Sanu.

The Pats didn't even need him last year. He pretty much quit on them and they won the SB without him.

Word is through rumors that Gordon was lazy and had work ethic issues... Over there they don't tolerate that crap, Bill B will send them packing.

That Metcalf is a monster in the making

Yeah he is, I wish we could've got a chance at drafting him. He is making his dad proud.

I've said it before, I wish Gordon all the best and that he can get rid of his addiction issues. However I'm pretty happy about him not being a Saint. After some rocky years with Galette and other trash people it took a bunch of years to rebuild a locker room that seems to be super strong. No reason to bring in a guy with a history like Gordon.

Y'all are dumb if you think Sean Payton would go for Gordon. No way in hell. We don't need, nor want his baggage he carries.

And yet Payton signed an undrafted rookie free agent who'd plea'd down charges to sexual battery, and later saw his plea agreement rejected by the presiding judge and ordered away in handcuffs to serve 6 months...

Also the Saints receiving corps is basically @CantGuardMike; a number of guys who're injured, just not stepping up haven't relieved the double/triple teams with the exception of RB Kamara and TE Josh Hill...

Gordon is a well-documented, uber-talented, problem-child wide receiver, so the situation was fluid, but, by no means, was it a slam-dunk he wasn't given serious discussion in the Saints offices...

But I would've bet money (no I wouldn't bet on Payton's thought process) that he's never sign someone with Granderson's baggage, and yet here he is...

As far as I can tell Granderson has no prior record and the "sexual battery" to which he was charged amounted to "unwanted sexual contact with two women while all three slept at his apartment in November 2018."

"He pleaded no contest July 10 to touching the buttocks of one of the women and the buttocks of the other, each over their clothing, according to Wyoming state court records obtained Saturday by The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate."

Yes, he made a mistake and they were all probably drunk, but I'll guarantee you that more egregious acts have been perpetrated by numerous privileged former college athletes on every roster in the NFL.

Oh, and that judgement by the "presiding judge" was thrown out after it was discovered that the judge had unlawfully contacted a psychiatric examiner of Granderson.

AG, not here to re-try, but illustrating the point that in Payton's history here with the Saints, players even with a hint of this cloud were often off the board when Tom Benson were alive...

And am familiar with the details of the case and don't dispute any of them to be incorrect...

Merely disputing the assumption that Payton would never consider Gordon. Have to doubt that he did and that he called Belichick where there's mutual respect and common league history for background...

IF there is one thing we can assume is that Payton's player acquisitions are heavily weighted by Coach to personal references...

To this I agree completely. Payton is far more likely to avoid a player that is disruptive and uncooperative than one with a single youthful mistake. He learned his lessons several years back.

I too don't doubt they "considered" Gordon, but not seriously after that quick phone call. "Bill, why you cutting him loose? ... Okay, got it. Thanks. Tell Linda I said, 'Hi'"

Unfortunate ...

Josh needs help, not football.

He needs to be out of the League for good now. Getting back to football over and over again doesn't seem to help him recover.
