Broken arm. Just saw on ESPN...waiting for a link to be posted on the site...

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) Tweeted:
Saints’ Pro-Bowl G Andrus Peat, playing at a Pro-Bowl level again, broke his arm during Sunday’s loss to the Falcons and underwent surgery today that is expected to sideline him six weeks, per source.

Andrus Peat broken arm, expected to miss 6 weeks

Per Adam Schefter

So it's probably accurate.

It's time to draft another big nasty or find a legit guard in 2020 Free Agency.

I wish Peat well in his recovery but he's not that dude long term in the trenches. He's losing a lot of one on one battles, hasn't lived up to his draft status and often injured ... basically lesser names have been giving him the business.

Maybe. Payton's left him inactive and had Will Clapp in there...

Hmm this is a tough one. I’ve never really liked Peat. I think that draft didn’t unfold the way we hoped it would and we got stuck with him more or less. We tried to make him a RT to be the heir apparent to Strief, but that was abandoned pretty quickly. He’s settled in at LG and he does some things very well.

Who backs up Armstead now? Do we have to sign a LG and a backup LT? Can Omameh, Easton or Greenidge step up? I don’t want Clapp starting.

I sure hope the entire offensive line and defensive line play better than last week.

There is a rumor that the entire line was sick with the flu, not just Armstead.

WTF are they feeding them?

And Clapp got beaten like a drum. This is very worriying. Peat has been playing on a good level and been an important part of why the O-line have worked so well.

This wouldn't surprise me. You can only carry so many players on the 53 man roster. If one room had a bug run through it you would be forced to play sick players. Trying to replace those players with someone off the street or from the practice squad would not be an option since it would involve cutting some of those players. You would pretty much just have to play the game and hope for the best.

Re: Peat out 6 weeks

Peat spends more time on his seat than his feet. After every play he is getting up off the ground. I won't miss him next year. I just hope we can replace his minimal protection with a backup who won't give up much more pressure than Peat.

Well we didn’t sign anybody this week, so now we wait to hear if it’s Clapp, Easton or Omameh starting.

Addition by subtraction... need to let Peat walk next year

Peat was the best 5th best lineman on the team.

He's hit or miss & wildly inconsistent.

If there was a better option out there they would have already been gobbled up. We aren't the only team with OL issues. Half the teams in the league are playing with backups on the OL.

Man, what's going on with the healthcare and dietary services for the Saints?!?

Few years ago, we went through a string of sports hernias...

That was followed by an inability to read, diagnose x-ray, CT, and MRI images...

Then we were missing cardiac issues in general physicals, but on professional athletes...

Now, we seem to have a problem with bugs floating around either the food or locker room...

But it always seems to systematic and not isolated - WTF?!?
