Jake Dellhomme situation. I hope we don’t lose him and watch him go on to have a great career. Especially to Tampa or Carolina. He’s shown me nothing to indicate he doesn’t have what it takes to be a real QB in this league.

I agree.
It's a great story, he's a great guy, and he's out-Guido'd Guido Merkins by creating his unique position.
But is he an NFL-calibre starting QB? IMHO, no.

Triple or quadruple his salary to $2 mill and everyone goes home happy.

What's make you so sure he'd be happy with that. He's waited his turn to shine as a starter. And he can do it. His age plays a factor. The guy that beat Steve Young's records at BYU has a lot in store in the NFL, IMHO.

Taysom is so much more than a backup QB. He is a QB, WR, TE, RB and special teams dynamo. I don't see us letting him go somewhere else to play QB. He is in the right system now but he might not be a good fit wherever the highest paycheck is.

Does he want to only be a QB? Probably. Is he happy in his role here? Quite possibly. I know this, he is better loved in New Orleans than most QB's elsewhere. Why would he want to leave this locker room? We are loaded with high character players that feed off each other. Remember, he a passionate Mormon that spent a couple of years doing mission work.

Taysom may or may not be starting QB material, but what I do know is he is the best 3rd QB in the NFL and should continue his role with the Saints for years to come. I do not like Taysom as a #2 QB because that would limit his overall contribution to the team.
