RE: help me out here.................
There is this place on Veterans called "Sweet Things" ... very good burgers. I'm not a big Fuddruckers
fans. |
It's been a while for me, but when I use to live in the area I use to go to a place on the west bank called Johnnie's...but I wasn't getting no hamburger. They had some great po boys, though.
|
When on the West Bank (my old stompin grounds) I loved Snells and Brothers on Lapalco for Po Boys, but for the burgers I loved Ground Patti.

Since we're at it.....
Does anyone know Glenn Lemoine from New Orleans? A friend from the early 80's I worked with. Mariner's in Hammond made a great baked 'tater back in the day. Had one last Saint's Family Fun Day. Only my second visit back to Hammond since the 80's. Good memories. Great tater. Ever had one? The Crescent was still goin' strong. :) 8) |
I live in hammond and eat at Mariners twice a week. they have sponsored my softball team for the last 8 years. Great Burgers to go with that tator!!!!!
Also if you want good poboys go to mothers on poydras. |
Lee's Old Fashioned Hamburgers!
I worked at one as a teen. Only two left as far as I know. One downtown and one on Veterans in Metairie by Lakeside Mall. Ground Patti kicks butt though. It's still open. I live 2.5 miles from it. |
GO local.

I know you are talking burgers, but you can't beat a steak sandwich from Crazy Johnny's. It's right by Lakeside mall, I forgot the name of the street. but it's on the JCPenney side right down the block from Pizza Hut. Best steak sandwich I ever had.
|
There is a Lee's Hamburgers in Slidell too.
And if you are in Baton Rouge, Brewbachers makes a KILLER burger. I keep praying they will open one on the Northshore, but no luck yet. Mabye I should work on opening a franchise in Slidell. It would KILL! |
Maybe AB would like some to?
|
when you think about it, there are probably about 500 fast food places in a 50 mile radius of n.o. (mickey d's, bk's, wendy's etc) on top of that, there are hundreds of other places that serve burgers, but the mainstream in n.o. is the po-boy........
i hope sully is'nt introduced to mother's.......... as far as sully staying away from these places i'd say he has about as much chance as a lame duck in a cajun pond on opening day of the season................smitty |
Crazy Johnny's is the street right off Severn I think... right close by Drago's if I'm not mistaken.
Two years down here already... I'm pretty sure Sully's been to Mother's. :P |

:P If any of you are ever passing through Hattiesburg, Ms(say to the B&G game in Jackson), you have to go to a bar called Mugshots. They've got the best burgers you've ever tasted. Its a cool sports bar to.
