Report: Sheldon Rankins has “significant” ankle injury
 

Rankins hurt his ankle in the loss to the 49ers and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that it is a “significant” injury. He adds that it doesn’t look like Rankins will be able to make it back on the field this year.

For me, losing Davenport will have a bigger impact on D.

Dang. That is two productive players that we will need come playoffs. Still, I remember losing a lot more players to IR in years past. Thank God for depth players and Jeff Ireland.

Sheldon’s done some great things, but he’s broken his leg, torn his Achilles and now “significant” ankle injury. That stuff has to eventually slow down a 300 pound man.

He certainly looked slower this year compared to last.

He was nearly unblockable last year and invisible this year.

I just don't believe Shimmy was ever healthy this year.

Same could be said for Kamara.
