Giants cut Janoris Jenkins

Worth a look?

Cornerback Janoris Jenkins landed in hot water this week for tweeting an offensive term for people with intellectual disabilities at someone on Twitter and then trying to defend his use of it as “slang” from where he grew up.

We tend to have injuries at the position. I’d love to bring him. He’d be a great short term depth signing.

Hell no! This guy’s been a ****head since his UF days.

Terrell Suggs has just been released by AZ. He may be old but with our injuries it would invaluable to have a guy like him helping our line.

With how Apple has been playing lately anything could help..

Really hope Suggs makes his way to us.

On a serious note, it might be okay to kick the tires. But really the Giants pass D has been atrocious this year, and we would be wise to carefully study recent tape and see if Jenkins was underperforming compared to his career output.

Chemistry means a lot on defense, as you know. By his comments after being released it was apparent he didn't want to be there. We can't be sure of where the issues originated. He is also dealing with a new ankle injury. Is he wanting to get out of the "hell hole" that the Giants have become, or has he quit and wants out for his own glory? He would be a publicity issue, that is for sure. Who would be released from the secondary to create his spot?

What do you think about these issues?

Seems to me like everybody is itching to get out of the Giants organization. Not to mention he’s 31 and probably wants to win more than anything else. I’d let Hardee or Bademosi go. I haven’t had a chance to watch Jenkins in a while, but when he’s at his best he’s an elite man to man corner. He fits our style of play. I just don’t think it hurts to bring people in and give them a chance. It’s not a lifelong commitment. Let’s just see how things work out like New England does.

If I remember correctly this guy is one of the few cornerbacks Michael Thomas didn't abuse. Press coverage without safety help.

The word "retarded" is in the dictionary. Too many sensitive wussies in the world.

I don't use the word "retard" anymore, but I have said many things I probably shouldn't have said in my 50+ years. We'd be retards not to take a look.

Y'all see what I did there?

What a insensitive and offensive remark for no reason. I don’t care if JJ made such a ignorance remark no need to repeat. Talent don’t supersede morality.

It was intended to be funny not offensive. My apologies.

What's offensive about what rugby or the Giants player said?

They’ve been trying to move away from the usage of the word for a while. I’m not offended by it, but I also have no connection to the community in question. Sometimes it’s easier to just say my bad and let’s keep it moving.

Yeah but neither of them were referring to people with down syndrome or some other mental handicap. So basically if someone is offended by a word and the word is not targeting a group they should probably get thicker skin or borrow some testosterone from a friend or family member. Nothing is weaker than saying I'm offended by words, especially when the words aren't targeting a group. The word retard or retarded has a separate meaning just like the word gay. If he had called a fan with down syndrome retarded I could understand being upset or thinking he is a POS. So laughable.

We are forced to be politically correct. Our opinions don't matter....just the people with thin skin matter because they stand up and scream at the world.

I can’t say I am happy about the move but I can see the reason why. Hopefully the locker room won’t be affected but affect JJ. Geaux saints
