Kamara

It's obvious the dude still is explosive, totally throw defenses off, and have great games. Still, there seems to be something a little off. I'm not sure if it's fatigue or what, but it seems like he lacks that full burst/creativity he usually has. He's still good, there just seems like something isn't quite right.

He looked a lot better to me, last night.

Re: Kamara

He is an excellent player, of that there is no doubt but he seems to take a fraction longer than he used to, to try and hit the gap, stutter stepping and hesitating more often as well. Maybe the injury is hanging on a little longer than expected! I'm still glad he's a Saint and long my he continue to be. He will be fine come the playoffs I think! WHO DAT!

Re: Kamara

It does appear he's being de-throttled for the playoffs. I think Payton is saving a package of plays for him in the RZ nobody has seen yet. He's getting almost no RZ work when he use to own it. Could really mess up defenses if they go off historical stats.

He's fine.

Again, a special player.

He's obviously still injured! Duh! Haven't ya'll played sports before where you were injured and still played? Kamara is not the same player without the leg drive. Seriously! Think about it. He's had two leg injuries this year. He'll get better but it's gonna' be a slow process. Take a deep breath and hope that they keep giving Murray the ball and let Kamara heal.

I would agree but he did try to leap over a defender a week ago. Not something a hurt player does IMO. Probably beat up some but nothing serious. I will have to bench him however for fantasy. He almost cost me the game with his 13 pts. Taysom and LM have really cut into his workload.

Re: Kamara

He’s being keyed on. All eyes are on him every time he touches the rock. If he isn’t running the ball Payton has him just flanking out into the flats. There needs to be more creativity with how he gets the ball.

Re: Kamara

Kamara isn't making that cut back explosive move inside but getting contained. He is hesitant instead of attacking. The Matrix moves are not as prevalent

He was looking like a decoy on a bunch of snaps. Either that or blocking. Brees was also going for the record. Same thing happened last year where Kamara was irrelevant on the other record. Nobody was getting a rushing TD last night.

Make them pay by over covering him until they stop... then run out the game clock.

Sounds wonderful to me. ;)

I agree. If they wanna worry about taking Kamara away then let them. I’d break out a brand new formation.

I Form with no TE. Instead put Cook at FB. Murray at RB. Kamara and Smith on the outside. Thomas in the slot. Let’s see where their focus goes then.

Yea... when you start 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage, it becomes difficult to even get looked at.

Re: Kamara

Slightly off topic but did anyone catch those screen passes from Brees to L train Murray? This dude was moving with a head of steam & you could see the cornerback "bracing" for the collision. LM in the open field with momentum, speed and power ... whew!

That's big boy football right there :p.

Love me some of “The LM Train” with a full head of steam downhill.

Laying down on the track to take down LM in open space. I would say Kittle or Kelce is worse but Force = mass X acceleration. LM is a lot faster.

Re: Kamara

Kamara obviously is having his worst year of his young career.

With that said, I hope we don't sign him to a big contract. Nothing against him personally, I just do not agree with paying big bucks for RBs. The running game is 90% about the O-line/scheme and 10% about who is carrying the ball.

There are some talking heads already starting rumors that Kamara may hold out next year for a big payday. If that's the case, let the guy walk and spend the money upfront for a new UDFA/Rookie RB that Payton will make look good.

I believe there will be. If we dont see anything durrng the play offs, I will come right back here and humbly admit my errors. Payton has always been a chess player, why all of a sudden play checkers? Do we need Kamara creativity for the Colts?

I know we want the #1 seed but not at the risk of tipping our playoff hand.

Beastmode 12-17-2019 05:28 PM

Re: Kamara

I still say Payton is saving him for the playoffs. Teams are honing in on him but we are still beating them or showing we can win without him.

Not much GL work now, but just wait. Coaches work off of stats. Stats will say he seldom gets the ball but he will.

I don’t mind defences focusing on Kamara as it gives us more looks downfield. Without him and Brees probably only throws at 80% [emoji23]

I suspect an order will be restored where defences need to cover and place more focus on our receiving threats which will give Kamara more space. He will be fine and I think he is warming to a huge playoff run.

He hasn't looked like a special player since about week 3. I don't know if he's hurt, not going full out, or what. But whatever it is, he doesn't seem fine to me. He finally had an ok game last night, and that was nice. But there isn't anything he's doing that can't be replaced.

The Saints could really use the old Kamara, at least come playoff time.

He flashed some of the explosive burst, but he seems to avoid contact, especially when he is close to the sidelines.

I'm not saying that he should take unnecessary hits.
