The record-setter has dominated the season, easily outdistancing his fellow receivers in catches and yards. Entering Sunday, Thomas enjoyed a 219-yard lead in receiving yards and a 29-catch lead in receptions for the season.

Thomas not only passed Harrison's single-season receptions record Sunday, but he also blasted past Randy Moss (5,396) for the most receiving yards through a player's first four seasons in NFL history. And he surpassed Antonio Brown's record (265) for most receptions in a two-season span.

Thomas' combination of pristine route running, ability to find open space, snap off routes, muscle defenders and ultra-sticky hands makes him a menace for defensive backs. Opponents know Drew Brees is targeting Thomas seemingly every play. None have corralled him this season.

With one game to spare, Thomas already set the receptions record. With the Saints still battling for playoff positioning, the dynamite receiver will add to that greatness in Week 17.

The way he runs routes are a beautiful thing to watch. Its like clinic film.

I love that he did this in the season AFTER we paid him.

The guy is a technician at running routes, he makes every route look the same so you never know what hes going to do.

The route he ran when Taysom threw him the ball was beautiful, as was the one when he broke the record.

Listening to people talk about how he practices reminds me of listening to people talk about how Jerry Rice used to practice. Mike works for it. I'm very proud he's on our team!

Mike should really thank the other 7th Wide Receivers that we have on the team.

He is every bit as good as he thinks he is but his utilization is not by anyone's choice.

That said, Drew should thank Mike for a few things.

The greatest thing about MT, IMHO, is the fact his game is not built on speed which means he should be able to be good for a loooong time.

Another important thing about CGM that goes unmentioned is that he's a GREAT teammate.
Go listen to some of his interviews or watch how he always congratulates another receiver when they make a play or TD. For someone who wants the ball and wants to make plays, he's one of the most unselfish players on the team.

The route Thomas ran that set the record was a thing of beauty. He must have put four moves on the DB within 3 yards. The amazing thing is that the ball was on the way before his final break to the sideline.

Thomas and Brees are Siamese twins....joined at the brain. Thomas is a great receiver and likely would be regardless of where he played, but Brees makes him the greatest. Likewise, Thomas' skills are also allowing Brees to go places (statistically) that he had never gone before. If Thomas can maintain this level of play he will likely add years to Brees' career.

5 WR's went before him. Tyreek Hill wasn't taken until the 5th. MT is amazing but look at these two, both paired with exceptional QB's.
