Re: 2020 Schedule

Holy Black and Goldie! If that's actually the backend of our schedule, that 3 games away then home with KC and MN is brutal. I don't get the frontloading of MNF and SNF games with the possibility of the season delayed or shortened. I have no idea what they're going to do.

Unless Friday is a "TNF", we didn't get one.

Patriots still have 5 prime time games. Is there that much demand to watch Jarrett Stidham?!

I hate early byes. I don’t worry about the offseason “brutal” schedules. More often than not those “brutal” teams wind up quite incredibly average.

geez...Dec 20 and 25th? with KC and Minny....that sucks. Guess they are making us truly earn it this year. Ratings will be high at least this season with the Brady, Rodgers(possible last season with GB?) and Mahomes Games.

Re: 2020 Schedule

The schedule makes perfect sense.

From the leagues perspective.
- This is a strange year and they need to get fans engaged early.
- Pushing the most viewed games to the end of the season will stack high viewership games on top of high viewership games and thats not a maximization of revenue.
- Moving high viewership games to the front of the season moves revenue forward and makes for better cashflow at the start of the season.
- They did eliminate out of country games and that may or may not have had an impact on scheduling.
- Moving high viewership games up in a year when everyone's revenues are down could help to pressure the season to start when it should. Everyone needs revenue and if there will be fan attendance this will help cities, channels, etc...

From the teams perspective:
- We have proven to be a lot more beat up than most at the end of the season, I would prefer divisional games scattered out so that more than one may not be affected by a key injury.
- Makes late season games more of an option to rest starters before going into the post season.

Overall it makes for a better product. We talk about what games are important before the season starts then have to remind ourselves every week that all games are equally important. I think we sometimes rationalize false superstitions. :bng:

No team should have to play more than two road games in a row...

Once again, Dallas, San Fran, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore get favorable traveling schedules...

How so? Our schedule is ranked 24th in difficulty (for what ever schedule difficulty rankings are worth)

3 road games in a row late in the season is easy? And it will be cold.

Not to mention after that stretch of games, Chiefs and Pat Mahomes come to the dome.

That's not an easy schedule by any means.

It won’t be that cold in Denver or Philly that time of year and neither of those teams are very good.

None of those road games worry me. The Atlanta game will be indoors (unless the sphincter dome's roof gets stuck open). LOL!

The same sorry Atl team that embarrassed us in our house on 11/19/19. We took an L.

Gotcha.

Now that I think about it, the Broncos game could be a tough one. With the additions of Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and Melvin Gordon that offense has potential to be special. They’ve given Drew Lock all of the help he needs to take that next step.

You're putting a lot of confidence in two rookie WR's. They seldom have much of an impact.

Saints have a way of turning rookies and no names into the weekly highlight reel....

I might say that talent still resides within the organization. I know at least 2 Packers fans that wish they had Taysom Hill back now, as well as fans from 30 other teams that wished they had drafted him in 2017.

The same ones who give the blueprint on pressuring Brees up the middle making him look average at best. Those Falcons..Hate to say it but they improved on their D line in the draft and Tampa actually has the ability to do the same from their D line. Our O-line better be much improved or Brees better have his track shoes handy.

As someone who lives in Denver I can tell you the Broncos have a ways to go. Someone posted an article the other day of the top defenses in the league. They had the Broncos in the top 5 which is laughable. Their corners and LBs are atrocious. Von Miller seems to be a shell of his former self. And I don't see their offense being that potent with 2 rookies WRs and a suspect OL.

What a nice distraction for a day, just wish I could start making my travel plans to New Orleans now until later. I’m going to Falcons game (family guys trip) but I wanted to take the son to one, maybe Panthers?

Michael Thomas will face 4 first round CB’s (Jeff Okudah, Damon Arnette, Jeff Gladney and AJ Terrell). He’ll probably smoke them all.

Our DB’s will face 5 first round WR’s (Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy, Justin Jefferson, Jalen Reagor and Brandon Aiyuk).

This why I hope we bring in another veteran pass rusher this off season. Gotta disrupt timing, wreak havoc in the backfield. All of these guys are dangerous in the open field and will make plays.

Even marginal QB's can slice up secondaries if they have time.
