Pro Football Talk said it best
"Which brings it all back to the Saints. The team that saw their playoff run in 2018 end with a controversial non-call of defensive pass interference now have seen their playoff run in 2019 made considerably more difficult with a controversial non-call of defensive pass interference. The difference this time around is that the play was less egregious, but that the device for potentially fixing any errors perhaps was not fully and completely utilized."

The NFL has ruined this game. Thanks for being loyal to the owners and not the fans.

Re: Pro Football Talk said it best
The Nfl network Aftermath show today is talking about how the non call on the PI in the endzone basically gave the #1 seed to the 49ers. Of course affecting 3 teams this time, the Packers, Saints & Seahawks. Al Michaels & Rich Eisen specifically zeroed in on how another missed call affected the Saints yet again.

When is Goodell gonna be held accountable??? The owners don't GAF!!!

Re: Pro Football Talk said it best
This isn't Goodell, this is Al Riveron who is the head of officiating.
He is completely garbage and delivered one of the worst officiated seasons I have ever seen. The league office has actually said it will evaluate the officiating from TOP to bottom once the season is over. I expect Al to be fired, if not then it's on Goodell. |

Re: Pro Football Talk said it best
Taking the delay of game on the 1-yard line borked the Seahawks much harder than that non-call IMO.

And yes I agree. Riverton is pure garbage. XLIV CHAMPS |
Re: Pro Football Talk said it best
Since we cannot have honest officials, I think the only solution is to make pass intereference legal. It is too complex for Al Riveron to determine what is pass interference in any consistent way with his small stunted brain, so all we can do is eliminate the rule and just start drafting more physical corners and expecting shorted careers from receivers.

Re: Pro Football Talk said it best
Al said last night they DID review the non-PI call and determined it "didn't rise to the level" of PI.
The whiners completely mugged the WR in the end zone. MUGGED. Don't give me any "rise to the level" bull crap. Roger didn't want it called. Full stop. |

Also, as a rugby ref we only call pertinent penalties that directly affect the play. If it's egregious we call it....if not, we give a verbal warning if possible but we don't take away a big play if it's been earned and the foul had nothing to do with the effectiveness of the play. |
