The Nfl network Aftermath show today is talking about how the non call on the PI in the endzone basically gave the #1 seed to the 49ers. Of course affecting 3 teams this time, the Packers, Saints & Seahawks. Al Michaels & Rich Eisen specifically zeroed in on how another missed call affected the Saints yet again.

This isn't Goodell, this is Al Riveron who is the head of officiating.

He is completely garbage and delivered one of the worst officiated seasons I have ever seen. The league office has actually said it will evaluate the officiating from TOP to bottom once the season is over. I expect Al to be fired, if not then it's on Goodell.

Since we cannot have honest officials, I think the only solution is to make pass intereference legal. It is too complex for Al Riveron to determine what is pass interference in any consistent way with his small stunted brain, so all we can do is eliminate the rule and just start drafting more physical corners and expecting shorted careers from receivers.

Al said last night they DID review the non-PI call and determined it "didn't rise to the level" of PI.

The whiners completely mugged the WR in the end zone. MUGGED.

Until we get the referees under a separate umbrella from the NFL the games will be called in favor of the NFL's favorites. We need full time independent refs who have to meet requirements to ref and have year round non stop training so they know what a penalty is! It varies from one ref to the next. It needs to be consistent throughout the league.


Also, as a rugby ref we only call pertinent penalties that directly affect the play. If it's egregious we call it....if not, we give a verbal warning if possible but we don't take away a big play if it's been earned and the foul had nothing to do with the effectiveness of the play.
