Re: The day the music died in the Saints' post game locker room

Davis finally got up from his locker sometime after many had already left the building. He was the last one to shower, the last one to dress and the last one to answer questions about what just transpired.

He had to take his time to process it all right there in the moment, to just be wrapped in that silence and alone with his thoughts.

“You have to process it emotionally,” Davis said. “From a mental standpoint, you can’t just ignore it, you have to deal with it. And it hurts, there’s no way around it. It hurts, and it hurts for a long time.

“Dark days, dark times, they hurt, even inside the game. But eventually the sun comes out.”

Man that hurts. I want to get this guy a ring so bad.

It hurts worse than in any other sport because the football/NFL has such a long-azz offseason.

I can see some in the locker room beginning to doubt the whole Payton and Brees machine.

3 straight gut wrenching playoff exits. Very unceremoniously and at home.

Re: The day the music died in the Saints' post game locker room

I was unable to watch the game live today.
I stayed off B&G, the internet, and tv all day.
I just watched the game, and I’m sick. Just ****ing sick.
Unbelievable we played so bad today. Our defensive secondary has shined all year, and today they just sucked. Our offensive line has been outstanding all year, and today Brees was running for his life. Thomas couldn’t get open to save his life. Our running game sucked. Our defense has looked good all year, and today they let everybody and anybody make 12 yard runs. Lutz has been dead on all season, misses a critical field goal today. It just sucks. The whole game just sucks.
Can’t blame this one on the officials. We killed ourselves.

Geaux Tigers. You’re all I got left.

Sigh.....

Demario Davis is a great player. Hopefully we get him some additional help this off season. We need more sideline to sideline linebackers who can arrive with bad intentions.

Side note - I hope the Saints FO find a way to keep Jack Rabbit Jenkins. He's a baller and had another good game opposite Lattimore at corner.

We choked again but it should not shock anyone. SB was 11 years ago. If we get there again it won't be with Brees.

The music is still playing. It's just funeral music now!

Givin’ how he only played three games for us he did very good and will only get better as he develops chemistry and gets a full grasp of the playbook and terminology down. I hope they keep Jackrabbit as well. Also, his nickname is awesome

Those temper tantrums Diggs was having on the sideline ...

Some of that was on Kurt not targeting him but a lot was Jack Rabbit with tight coverage the entire game.

Aaron Glenn had some words for Lattimore after getting beat again by Adam Thielan. Marshon didn't like what was said and lashed back.

Stupid on his part. Respect your coach, take responsibility and correct your actions. Getting into shouting matches with your coach was a bad look to me.

BTW, Adam is a hell of a receiver. Dude's been battling hamstring issues all season but lined up against our best cornerback and gave him the business.

Re: The day the music died in the Saints' post game locker room

I remember so many years we'd be optimistic about the next season because we had a lot of talent, enthusiasm and were an ascending team.

I no longer get that feeling from fans anymore.

Our Brees/Payton window is now closing and we need some new young blood to slam that window wide open again. It might be Taysom or Teddy or someone else, but we need a change of momentum. We need some fire.

It’s still playing, it went from Choppa Style to Second Line

Lattimore played terrible and had the nerve to run his mouth back at the coach. Im not sure he is going to be worth the money he is going to want.
