When our two starters went out before San Francisco - that was a HUGE difference in SF being able to move the ball

No pressure, no contianment

Jimmy G had 6 seconds to Work on his sun tan back there

The Mike Nolan loss is gonna really hurt, and despite the criticism here, out LB play, including those not named DeMario, had been among the league's best...
This is what worries me. He left the day after our stinging playoff loss. That is enough to make me believe something else has been going on with this coaching staff.

This team wasted the entire year whining about the non-call, Payton wanting rules changed and just thinking the NFL owed us something cause "we got robbed". It does not work that way. We wore out our welcome in terms of sympathy and it has resulted in most of the league absolutely despising us in a similar way they did the Harbaugh coached 49ers when they whined and moaned about officiating after their heartbreaking losses in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

We made no moves before the trade deadline that would've given us a boost to be a real contender. Many of us fans here on this forum were begging for Emmanuel Sanders. We let the Niners swoop him up, come into our house and proceed to shred us with him.

I am expecting a 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7 finish next year, especially if we lose Bridgewater and stick with Brees. We all bought into the kool aid that they were a contender who just got robbed last year and then we get bullied at home by a 6th seed Vikings team. Absolutely sickening, but humbling at the same time.

The 49ers have speed on their offense and they took advantage of our weak secondary too.

Eli Apple has long been one of the issues on this team. Apple is a penalty magnet and he gets a pass cause the majority of this fan base broke their brains with conspiracy nonsense thinking Roger Goodell moves heaven and earth to screw us. Apple occasionally has a good game here and there, but when he don't? Expect blatant pass interference calls from him or giving up deep passes.

The Niners shredded us by picking on Apple. Last year, the Cowboys and Steelers both made an example of him when he couldn't cover Amari Cooper or Smith-Schuster.

I really wish we could've got rid of Allen and promoted Nolan to DC. As history has proven over the years, Allen's defense is never going to win us a SB.

Re: LB Coach Mike Nolan Hired by Cowboys

The team mutinied and gave up on Spags. This was consistent with reports coming out of them not being happy in the locker room. They suddenly had a coach who wanted to install discipline on the defense, change scheme and also change the culture of the locker room. That bothered them.

Payton responded by hiring a clone of Gregg Williams in Rob Ryan who wanted to be their friend and let them do whatever they want. This had disastrous results.

In a way, this has been our problem on defense in recent years too. Payton brought in Dennis Allen, who should've been fired after 2016 when he fielded back to back historically bad defenses. In 2 of our last 3 playoff exits, Allen's defense has been torched.

A contradiction don't you think?

The players mutinied on the "DISCIPLINED SPAGS" AKA "TOO HOT"

"They suddenly had a coach who wanted to install discipline on the defense, change scheme and also change the culture of the locker room. That bothered them."

THEN the same players who didn't want discipline turned around and
"TURNED A DEAF EAR" to "GOOD BUDDY" "AKA TOO COLD"

"Rob Ryan....who wanted to be their friend and let them do whatever they want. This had disastrous results."

Doesn't sound like "COACHING" was the culprit. Must have been too many "Shiny Objects around to distract them"

Might we lose another one??

This one I’m not as bothered by. We drafted the best CB in the 2017 draft and our subsequent improvement in the secondary was looked at as brilliant coaching by Glenn.
