To be fair, Payton & Co hasn't ignored the WR position - drafting Michael Thomas, Tre'Quan Smith; signing Ted Ginn and Cameron Meredith...

And what's happened is that when we've hit, we really hit big and when we missed, we really missed and it's manifested in quick playoff exits...

The problem is an organizational problem of assessment and acquisition where one man has too much weight in personnel decisions...

First, Saints Director of ProScouting Terry Fontenot and GM Mickey Loomis should geaux if either gave favorable reports on Ginn and Meredith; if Payton forced the moves, then why even have guys in token positions?

Second, as Chris aptly pointed out earlier, we should only be trading future ones for a franchise QB, which we've had already. Moving up as many times as we've had has limited draft opportunities for WRs...

Third, in the four moves mentioned for WRs, we've only hit on one, so obviously the talent evaluation process is still very flawed in the Payton Front Office...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Since Michael Thomas came aboard in 16, we've drafted one (Tre Smith) WR right? Was not counting the Free Agent guys. Mike needs a "Robin" like the B Cooks days.

I look at the production of Dallas Michael Gallup (taken a few picks above Tre') & often wonder if he was ever on our draft board. He's killing it. At this point, anything we get from Tre is Lagniappe. Minimal improvement 3 years in. Keep in mind Taysom was more productive at the position for 2019 .

We have a lot of un drafted (Hogan, Humphrey, Carr, Butler) guys that Brees can't turn into bona fide play makers anymore.

I for one will be elated if we go WR early in the draft. More weapons, more options, more problems for opposing defenses.

Major, you know I agree we need someone opposite MT; Jared Cook was suppose to be that guy, but disappeared quite a bit; and the three other options have all busted...

Let me repeat my point - there were attempts to get that other guy, it's just the decision, process was wrong AND we didn't have the draft picks to make another (too much trading up)...

Sean Payton can't help himself at times perhaps.

And that's why I've been arguing that we need a stronger GM to check him from his personnel gaffes...

If we had a Carmen Policy-type GM, Sean Payton and the Saints would have won multiple SuperBowls with Drew Brees by now...

Payton calling all the shots has been a total clusterf*ck on the personnel end of the Saints...

But we can Thank Mike Ditka for the Ricky Williams trade as the bar for draft gaffes has been set pretty low...

Didn't think anyone would outdo Jim Haslett's move up with two first round picks for Jon Sullivan...

But Payton is making up for it on sheer volume; Payton clearly has a complex that he feels the need to outsmart everyone, even on draft day, including himself...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
