Re: Does Cameron Jordan think Saints are cursed in playoffs?

Katrina washed away the curse and started a dynasty. So a curse isn't the problem at all. The problem is we are not a nasty team anymore with a Carl Knicks attitude. We are a finesse team with an aging quarterback and the team doesn't remember how to close games. Some of that I can put on coaches. Some of that I can put on the players and the rest I put the blame on the refs. Lol

We've got to get tougher! Peat is an excellent example of how soft our team has become and we've got to fix that. Some deep self reflection is needed from coaches and players. Maybe Payton decides to the run the ball more. That would be a great place to start improving. If so then give me a big ugly road grader in the first round.

I can not curse the Refs when Crawley and Apple are doing their version of Alien offspring on a WR face...

They're not cursed, they're just not good enough.

The Saints have been a consistent disappointment in terms of playoffs since 2013.

They've only scored 30 points ONCE in the playoffs since 2013.

From 2006 to 2011, we averaged 36 points a game in the playoffs after averaging 30+ points in the regular season. Point being, they actually played better in the playoffs back then. Brees was in his prime in those years and we brought it, even if we didn't make it back to another SB.

Since 2013 to 2019, we've still averaged 30 points a game most seasons, yet have only scored more than 30 points once in the playoffs.

While all this fan base blames refs, Goodell and whatever boogie man, the Saints play in the playoffs is very consistent in recent years. We can pad the stats and run up scores in the regular season (averaged 30+ points a game with Brees this year) but in the playoffs, they get shoved around and bullied by other teams and then don't know what to do. We respond by crying about refs (what Cam did about the final play vs Minnesota) and talking about how "we could've beat the team ahead of us, we got robbed, this was our year". But my point is, we are consistent with playing like **** in the playoffs the last 3 years. The refs and Goodell and whatever other boogie man you want to blame our failures on, isn't the ones putting these rosters together, these coaching staffs and playing badly in the playoffs. Refs didn't make Brees play awful against the Vikings this past year.

If it weren't for a bunch of missed field goals and Newton not being able to throw accurately, we're probably one and done in 2017. We're one and done in 2018 too if Jeffrey don't let that ball slip out of his hands and get picked. This is why I am sick to death of hearing about refs and officiating. We play down to ****ty teams we should blow out in the playoffs and this is at home where we are supposedly invincible.

In these last 3 playoff runs, Brees has thrown 10 TDs and 5 INTs in 5 playoff games. At home in the playoffs he has 7 TDs and 4 INTs in the last 3 years. I know we as fans love to rag on other HoF QBs when they lose in the playoffs (Manning, Rodgers, Brady) but it's not like Brees has been lighting it up the last few years come playoff time.

We're not cursed. We simply don't show up in the playoffs for whatever reason. We've been out-coached and out-played in all 3 of our last playoff exits, and that also includes our HoF QB playing badly in those games.

That is not what I wanted to see when I started reading your post. Dammit! You're right though! I just hate to see the end of the best era in Saints football and a huge chapter in my life change. Would you mind sending this to Sean Payton for me? Thanks.
