Players Trade Value
We have done very well with our draft picks since Jeff Ireland's arrival in New Orleans several years back when he took over recruiting and we cleaned house in the scouting department. However, at the same time we've also been very willing to part with multiple picks to move up for a player that we have a vision for. So, once again, as usual we are going into this draft with limited picks.
This year there has been all kind of talk trade rumors for additional picks again. If we were to trade a player or players who would it be and what is their trade value to you? We have a lot of impact players in line for a new contract and some of these trades would help us with the draft and the cap hits coming soon.:bng: |
Re: Players Trade Value
The only one that makes sense to me is Sheldon Rankins (provided that we re-sign Onyemata of course.) That trade would free up $7.69 mil in cap space with no dead money. In terms of compensation, probably a 3rd round pick.

Re: Players Trade Value
Kamara, Payton envisioned him as an every down back. He isn't. I think we could get a 2nd rounder in return, some team will over pay for a decent ball catching rb that can be used to take handoffs from time to time. I would like to have Murry leading the charge with another actual powerback.

I think it would be a mistake. No he’s not an every down back but he is special player when it comes to the way he plays when he has the ball. Having him makes it so we don’t need an every down back. Just a decent back who can get it done in 3rd and short/goal. For us Those guys haven’t been hard to find. That being said a trade would have huge value and Payton hasn’t been afraid to part ways with star players. |

Trade Kamara?
What in the actual f***? |
Re: Players Trade Value
Payton is enamored with Kamara; even making comparisons to his time coaching Marshall Faulk at San Diego State. I would be stunned if Payton got rid of him.

Kamara will be a lot better next year. I don’t think he was ever truly healthy.

High ankle sprains are tricky. Instead of giving him 6 weeks, the Saints rushed him back after 3. Straight line speed was no problem however he had no cutting ability. I'm not feeling the "trade" talk either. Our guy was clearly banged up. Like you stated, Kamara will be back better than ever in 2020. |
Re: Players Trade Value
The issue isn't how good Kamara is
Its that's your going to have to pay him 12-15ml a year very soon. And that's far to much for a non Bell cow RB |
