Drew and Brittany Brees commit $5 million to coronavirus hunger relief in Louisiana
 

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his wife Brittany are stepping up to help their larger community survive the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Brees announced on his Instagram account on Thursday that he and Brittany will be committing a whopping $5 million for coronavirus hunger relief in the entire state of Louisiana.

I appreciate Mr. & Mrs. Brees for always , always helping their adopted city and state, birthplace and home of their children. The place and team that changed their life also changed , for the better, N.O and LA.

Of course, if we all had 500 million dollars in the bank we'd probably donate 5 million or so too... well most of us would... I would hope.

It brought real tears to my eyes when I saw it, K. Although, been a more than few tears the past few weeks. It ain't weak to cry, my friends. It takes strength to care enough to cry. I'm sure I'm not alone with my friends here. I am safe and pretty much set but fear for my boys. I am praying I can get my son back up here from NOLA. He has been isolated by himself for three weeks. Up here is in Bossier. I don't want him there alone.

I pray for all of you all in NO. Im in KY and we only have around 300 known cases but im sure it will hit harder. Brees is the man. By far my favorite player ever.
