Saints on Madden '06
 

Just got Madden '06 today and I have a major beef with EA Sports. Here in no particular order are my gripes:
1)Aaron Brook's passing cone looks like a baby slice of pizza, while other QB's look like a half a pie.
2)They have Duece ranked as a "92". Complete BS and again shows the media's complete lack of respect for Duece's ability.
3)Our top rated player is Berger with a "93"
4)They have Spencer Folau ranked in the low 80's and starting at left guard for us and Montrea Holland ranked in the mid 70's and riding the bench. Oh, really. Does anyone do any research over there.
6)They have Derrick Rodgers as our starting ROLB although he has been cut now for weeks.
7)No Alfred Fincher or McKinnon, but when I picked McKinnon up he ranked in the mid 80's and becomes the starter over Watson who is ranked in the mid 70's
8)They have Jammal Brown ranked as an 80 which seems a bit low, but I could be nit picking at that.

Just some of my gripes. I like the game on the whole, but for $53 bucks with tax I figured I could get my complaints in.

Yeah I was upset that Bockwolt and Watson were ranked so low. I was also suprised that they didn't have Fincher. What about Mayberry starting at RT instead of G? I thought it was going to be a little more accurate.

They will do a roster update when the regular season starts, they always do.But get those complaints into EA.

They have a roster update. I did mine today. Adds Fincher. HE is a 59 overall. You still have to pick up McKinnon though. They add Ty Law to the Jets, and move Mayberry to guard with Brown starting. Pretty cool once you do the first update.

Got bit by karma today. Started A-Mac week 3 verses the Vikes, and he was holding his own, until he got put out for 8 weeks with a broken ankle. Glad I didn't trade Brooks right off like I started to. I did trade Sullivan and a 4th for a 3rd rounder, Joe Horn for Braylon Edwards and a pick as well. Having fun, except my PS2 decided now it wants the lens to go out, so I have to buy a new one tomorrow.

WOW... the passing game is going to take sometime to get use to! So for I love the NFL SUPERSTAR Mode.

I don't like superstar mode, but only cause it's random what team you go to, and I only play with the Saints.

Yeah I was drafted by the cards backing up Warner. The fun part is going to be able to hit FA and get to the Saints in a year or so... also I just read up on Francise mode. You're able to save the file and send it online... others can downloaded and play other teams and you can end up playing against one another. This Sounds great to me. Sucks if everyone wants Saints but seems fun. As soon as I get my PS2 online I'll set something up and we all can just pull a team out of a hat I guess.

Geez....to all of you guys that are mad with the Saints roster....chill out. If the team does well then the ratings will change. I actually think this is the most accurate roster rating of us in the past few years. I'm surprised that Stallworth is still in the eighties, and they slighted him on his speed, but other than that it is a fair team rating. They are still good enough to win online. I'm rated 20th onlinie right now because i can win consistently with them, because they are a relatively low rated team.

yeah i only put AMac in when im blowing someone out. His deep ball is inaccurate as hell, but has a strong arm and is agile, of course.

Am i the only one here with XBox?????

Yea I don't care to much on player ratings. By the time you win the Superbowl and practically send your whole team to the ProBowl, all of their ratings will skyrocket anyways. I have more fun making 60-70 guys into 80-90 players. Then sell high and acquire tons of draft picks and develop them into superstars. :)

I have an XBox but not online. I'm considering it though... we'll see how fast I get bored playing the computer.

How do you get roster updates?

Slighted Stallworth on speed? Isn't it a 97?

I never play sports game son my Xbox, and you have to pay for online. Not on PS2. Stupid PS2 breaking now.

Whodi, how do you get roster updates?

You get online for Madden, and the first thing they do is update your roster. Then it asks if you wanna save it to memory card and you say yes. Then when you go to play, just download the online roster, not the regular roster. They are separate on the memory card screen, and you will not help yourself by downloading the regular roster again, it will be the same thing you were trying to update. I suaully erase my regular roster then save the online one again as a regular roster to avoid that problem.

I have X-Box, but have never been online with Madden. What did you mean about paying for online? Does it cost extra than normal service? Do they do roster updates for prior games also? (Will they have a 2006 roster available for a 2005 game or will they only have roster updates for the current game?)

You have to pay for an Xbox live subscription, while PS2 is free to go online. that's one of the reason I choose my sports games for Ps2, and everything else for Xbox. Also, I doubt you will be able to update rosters for this year into last year's game. Don't quote me though, cause I haven't tried it so I am not 100% certain, but I don't think you can get online into this year's game without actually having this year's game. You may still be bale to log into last year's game but more than likely it will only have last year's updates.

If you have XBox live and log on to EA's Madden Site, the roster update is automatic. I think they come out every two weeks or something like that.

yeah whodi they slighted him. I believe he was a 99 last year in speed. I guess they think he lost a step. I know he was a 99 in speed for sure in 2004.

Oh and i'm sure you can't get this year's updated rosters for last years game. What sense would it make to get this years game if you could just download the new players into the game you already bought a year ago?

I'm gonna question that one GT. I don't think he was 99 speed last year. As a matter of fact, I do believe he was 97, as he is now.

you're right....he was a 97 last year...i just checked it. oh well....he was a 99 the year before and u couldn't stop him.

anyone else think the saints helmets are too dark. The gold just doesn't look like it should.

Well i buy madden and guess what my Freakin PS2 isnt workin its an older model and i hear ppl have trouble with the older ones so i guess my laser just broke or something i will have to go get another Ps2 . . . the new ones $150 i think . . .

Im not really sure how ea come up with the rating system for this year, but it looks pretty half ass too me......the saints had a better def rating last year, compared to this years.

Also whodi, this will be your last year playing a madden sports title for free if thats the case, as Sony has stated that they will be charging money to play online with the PS3 when it hits stores.

if u have xbox live when u sign in to play madden it will force u update the rosters before u can play a game so... there ya go

oh and they have the saints defense pretty crappy b/c they did suck pretty bad last year

Same prob here. I bought a cleaner and everything and it still didn't work. This was a plan by Sony to make you buy a new PS2. But what are you gonna do? I am getting a new one today.

Since I will buy an Xbox360 and PS3 anyway, it won't really matter. As of RIGHT NOw, Sony is free.

Ps2 online shows you the connect rate of all people online, so you can avoid those with slow rates. That's the reason it's there. why would you play anyone with a slow connect rate, when they show you the connection rate of everyone?

There are new features in the new game. Such as the QB vision cone.

For those who have Madden on Xbox, I finally had to go get it on Xbox myself. *sob* Can I improt rosters from NCAA 2006 on Xbox like you could with PS2?

That prob will never happen unless I get a free subscription. But if I do, i'll let you know. Hopefully that game DarkWatch that comes out Tuesday will have one. But I am still very much trying to get used to the buttons for Madden on Xbox. No L2/R2 is throwing me off. And I had to go rent NCAA for Xbox and simulate to get my drafts. I did pick up Vince Young and AJ Hawk for the Saints though. Pretty nice.
