I really like Jefferson he knows how to get open, he’s never runs a short route we need five he’s over the five between the seams , curls, fades, streaks it don’t matter he knows the game he’s clutch. He protects himself from the damaging hits. I won’t be upset if we trade up to get Zack Baun or if Murray slides to us

Jefferson would be outstanding. Falling to us unlikely. Eagles are desperate for WR's. Some are saying Brandon Aiyuk. Nothing special about him. I would not take him there. Bet he falls to the 2nd.

There’s a rumor out there that the Eagles are trying very hard to trade up and get CeeDee Lamb. I really hope it’s true because Jefferson is my #1 choice.

This may be an unpopular opinion but Delpit is a better safety prospect coming out of college than Jamal Adams was. It's unfortunate Delpit didn't work out at the combine as I think he would have lit it on fire. He dealt with a bunch of small injuries last season that affected his production. He had such a great '18 season that I think the expectations for him coming into last season became quite lofty.

He's going to be a really good NFL player and will turn out to be an incredible steal for someone if he drops into the second round.

Really, who cares? Why is everyone so obsessed with drafting LSU players?Ireland and Payton will pick players best suited to our needs or BPA. He’s not going to pass on someone better just for the sake of having an LSU player on the team.

Mayock use to say it best, the NFL combine is for confirmation, not evaluation. Athletic testing numbers shouldn’t be served as the basis for validation of a player’s talent.

I don't disagree.

Testing at the combine would have confirmed his elite athleticism. He's already shown to be an elite talent when fully healthy. That's already been validated.

Well, if Ruggs is gone before 15, don't be surprised if Denver takes Jefferson. There's been a ton of talk about the Broncos really liking Jefferson over the past 2 weeks.

I never understood the obsession and perceived shunning of LSU players.
Is there any pro team that uses a local college as a pipeline?

small sample size, but for what it's worth:
There were 53 All-Pro selections including 2nd team and ST. Exactly one was drafted by a team in the same state where he attended college.

I think that you are missing the point Dude! It's an old joke around here that Payton refuses to draft anyone from the LSU program since he's been coaching the Saints. There have been good players over the years and I don't know if they didn't fit the system or if he's just prejudiced.

LSU won the National Championship and is loaded with talented players who will likely fit our system. I believe that their head coach(Ed Orgeron?) was an assistant with the Saints and comes from the Payton coaching tree. So, it's quite likely there are numerous LSU prospects on our draft board.

Let's not forget the Ohio State connection though....the force is strong with that One university. :lightsabre:

I hear sometimes here, from some posters that Sean Payton has an apparent
tendency to not draft from LSU, which might make sense. It seems there could be a potential distraction, and unrealistic expectations, not to mention the perceived "entourage" effect, from having your old friends nearby.

Is this real? I'd like to know.

Good question SM I just like to biotch and moan for the thought that he just don’t like the Tigers of LSU but I really don’t think there’s anything behind this. But I I’m telling u if he don’t take Justin Jefferson if he’s there I’m not going to his birthday party this year. [emoji40]

I've seen the Saints skip over LSU players in the draft and post draft undrafted free agency and pick other players who didn't make the team, but the LSU players they skipped went on to strong, lengthy careers. In some ways, we have a blind spot to LSU talent. Nobody is saying it should be a feeder for the Saints, but LSU players shouldn't be discounted because they grew up within an hour of where the Saints are located.

There’s a sure thing LSU produces its speed all over the field and that produces success in today’s NFL.

Which players were skipped with same round grades? Just curious.
