Winston could be successor to Brees
Thing about Winston is, look at the situations he was in under Koetter and Arians. Every QB has had problems under them, even Matt Ryan.
I believe their is also a stat going around where Matt Ryan’s has thrown more INTs under Koetter than Winston did in Tampa. We all know the situation with QBs first year under Arians. I also believe with corrective eye surgery and getting his head right under Sean will see him become a dominant QB. I believe he never has had the chance to succeed due to lack of discipline and coaching. Thoughts? |

Hard to wrap my brain around that at this point in time. But.. This here is New Orleans, anything goes |
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
If so great, but I doubt it.

Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
No. But I am open minded if he prove himself
|
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
I don’t think so ... but I’m a fan ... If the coaches think he is the best option for the team ... That what will happen.

Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
At least he's got the W pregame speech down... W as in WhoDat!
|
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
You can't fix stupid! I'll never get that image of him licking his fingers in a pregame speech out of my mind and his team mates looked so confused. This is what I feel he has to offer.
He doesn't have the It factor....he has the S*it factor. :P |

My mom would’ve made me wash my mouth out with soap for saying that.
I just think it would’ve been better if he hadn’t been in our division, I could’ve fallen for the numbers and hype if I hadn’t seen him with my own eyes for so long. JMO |

Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
Winston had an offer from the Steelers and he chose to come here.
When he walks out on the field in Black & Gold in whatever capacity he's now a Who Dat. So between the corrective eye surgery working with SP and Drew it all starts a new chapter in the book of Winston. Oh and if he wants to keep on with the finger licking maybe he should check in with KFC and do a commercial for those folks. |
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
Winston was telling his team to eat a W which I find to be characteristically different than walking out and pulling a pornhub on your own finger.
Have any of you ever watch Drew? His OCD makes him lick his fingers like someone just stole his beignet and all he has left is the powdered sugar.. |
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
I would love to see Sean and Drew allow Jameis to come in for blow outs in the 4th quarter - get some reps - other than that have Drew healthy and play all season.
Seeing Jameis take over without a hiccup in a year or two would be wonderful and take the sting out of the post Drew era. Winston has never seen an offensive line as good as the Saints That means a lot on the passing game |

Here's a guy who has thrown over 5k yards with "issues", put him in the film room with Sean, Carmichael & #9 for a season. No doubt he'll improve at his craft. Even if he improves by say only 10%, you have a QB who could lead the league in TD's, passing yards and cut his int's in half (JW averaged 15 before the new Arians offense). As we know the Saints are a complimentary team that plays complimentary football with accountability and a strong locker room culture. I don't think Jameis is no where near Brees but I do strongly believe he's better than a lot of other NFL starting QB's around the league. It was no mystery Bruce Arian's reasoning is to sling (he was the QB coach in Indy when Manning threw 28 ints ) the football all around the yard. Sean P ... he'll take what the defense gives em (see 2 glove Teddy 2019) & more geared to not turning the ball over. That way of thinking equates to changing a QB's tendencies and habits. As to Rez's point, check out some of those Bucs Hard Knocks re runs. Jameis is very bright and a student of the game. I can't wait for these guys to get back at it this summer :bng:. |
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
Jameis has turned his life around also.
He is a Christian with a young family. I really think he will thrive in New Orleans |
Re: Winston could be successor to Brees
in a related story, I'll be taking over for Stevie Ray Vaughn.
