Evidence that he is still a mess off the field.

Didn't he sign the paperwork? He had to know the bottom line.

I am not a Winston fan in the least. He's just not very bright.

There's no telling why Winston fired his agent. Players fire agents all the time. It's pretty common. I wouldn't doubt that they had differences over the contract. It sounds to me from everything that Winston has done and said that he really wanted to be with the Saints. He was willing to take less to be here. Joel Segal would have wanted as much as possible to get his cut. Segal was probably upset that Jameis settled for as little as he did and they probably had a "philosophical difference" that couldn't be mended.

Yes, he signed it. He knew the bottom line. He also knew what spending a year behind Brees got Bridgewater ... a $60 million deal.

If Brees goes down we'll see if he plays like 5-0 Bridgewater played. That's what got Bridgewater the coin, not just sitting behind Brees. If Brees didn't go down I have a had time believing he gets paid what he got, and I like Bridgewater.

Even Drew and Sean can't fix stupid! And that young fellow is full of stupid. In fact his cup runneth over into his crab legs. I just shake my head when I see his photo. I've got too many visual pictures that I can't get rid of in my head like him licking his fingers and the looks on his team mates faces!

I doubt it's personal. Some agents are better at certain aspects. Smart move IMO. Get to play behind Brees, raise his stock some on that alone. Next year, He needs an agent that will sell the sizzle as much as possible. Could even be traded mid season if a team is desperate.

He signed that deal almost 3 months ago. If he was that unhappy would have got another agent immediately...meh.

All he needs is more reps. He has absorbed as much as he could from Brees but needs the reps. People are underestimating him. His work ethics could be more than Brees if given the wheel. He only plays like 3 positions off of it. Imagine if he only focused all that on one.

Why would you get an agent immediately after you sign a contract?

Agents do a lot more than negotiate contracts. They handle things like endorsement deals, public relations, investments and general finances, ongoing communications with the league (fines, appeals, drug testing), monitoring supplements, etc. Contract negotiation is only one aspect of their job.

Not looking for a job description. It is the off season, during a pandemic, and this is Jameis Winston.

Joel Segal is in the cream of the crop of spots agents and Winston has no new agent as of yet.

I may have misread Beastmode's reply.

Honestly, Winston needs to "reinvent" himself. Perhaps he was not satisfied with Segal doing that. It's only been a few days since he fired Segal. I'm curious as to who he picks up and what that agent does to help get him relevant again.

I don't care who he picks I just don't see him as ever being relevant. You can't fix stupid.

Actually, you can if it was related to immaturity. From everything I have heard about him he has been a model citizen for the past few years and is actually extremely sharp in the QB room. His only problem has been trying to force the ball.

Only for those QB's on the roster in five years after Brees finally retires.

;)

Yeah.... That's some millennial speak right there..:D You don't reinvent a "hot mess" brother. Young sluts have been trying to do that for centuries just to become old sluts.:beatnik:

Behavioral modification is difficult enough for people with a reasonable amount of self control much less someone with no control.

That's just it. He's apparently shown self-control over the past few years ... except when throwing the ball on the field. That IS something that can be coached. Loomis said in an interview yesterday that "great" (I can't remember the exact expletive, but it was much stronger than great, outstanding or something) in everything he's been asked to do.

We'll see. Maybe we can trade him later in the season for something good.
