Preseason serves a big purpose.
So many players get traded and better for them. Better to be traded than cut.. So many end up on active roster after proving themselves and getting out there in a game on the field under the lights with media and fans. Training camps and a scrimmage, etc are some of the things. The proof that matters is on the field.
