Hasbeen a Liar ?????
QB takes some hits
The fun as training camp ended extended to players taking shots at quarterback Tom Brady for a photo spread in GQ magazine that has Brady posing with animals. Light and center Dan Koppen taped up clips of the photos, one of which included a baby goat. Brady said he had to listen to teammates talk to him all day in the voice of Hannibal Lecter, the villain from ''Silence of the Lambs." This harassment follows the ribbing Brady took after appearing on ''Saturday Night Live" in his underwear and in other magazines shirtless. All in all, it's been a revealing offseason for Brady. ''Coach always says just because they ask you to do something doesn't mean you have to do it, which he told us all again today, of course, referring to me," said Brady. ''I guess I'm a slow learner." . . . Brady welcomed four children to Gillette Stadium as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts . . . Coach Bill Belichick said the decision on who would play and for how long against New Orleans tomorrow had yet to be made. Therefore, an ESPN report that he and Saints coach Jim Haslett had made a pact to play their starters into the third quarter of the exhibition game at Gillette Stadium caught him by surprise. ''I haven't talked to Jim since the owners meetings in Hawaii [in late March], so that's news to me," Belichick said. http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal..._buzz_in_camp/ |
RE: Hasbeen a Liar ?????
Wow.
|
RE: Hasbeen a Liar ?????
Haslett lying??? Nooooooooo....
|
RE: Hasbeen a Liar ?????
"Well, Bill is a Heckuva coach." said Haslett.
Maybe the kiss of death will extend beyond our players and land upon Belichick. |
RE: Hasbeen a Liar ?????
So nice to see you again, Venturi...
How did Haslett get all the way to the N-F-L? |
Something is fishy about this...
I can't imagine Haslett saying that Bill agreed to this, if they haven't spoken since March. That kind of stuff is way too easy to contradict by the other party. I'd make sure Haslett was directly quoted as saying this, before I jump to conclusions. For instance, an ESPN REPORT stating that pact was made is much different than Haslett being directly quoted on radio or TV as saying this. |
It may be fishy and all of this may be wrong, but Haslet made it clear over the years that he has no problem lying.
|
Let's just make sure everyone has the facts ON THIS CASE, before they start throwing out accusations.
|
Yeah the way I recall it... was Haz just flat out said he plans on playing the starters for 3 quarters. Before he said that there was a report on what New England usually treats the preseason and that was a couple of series and out, Belichick uses preseason more to evaluate the rookies and FA in camp not to get reps for starters. There was no mention as to wear there was an agreement and this came from NFL Network not ESPN.
|
Didn't anyone else think it was odd that NE would agree to play their starters for 3 quarters? That struck me as bizarre from the moment I heard it.
I mean, they're already on top, they don't need any changes. So why risk their starters? What do they stand to gain? The way I see it, they have nothing to gain, but everything to lose. |
I don't think you're putting your starters at risk... you can get hurt on anyday, any given practice... what I thought was strange however was that its a major change in Belichick's philosophy of evaluating players to playing starters. If I was Haz, I wouldn't worry about 'agreeing' to play starters for 3 quaters I would just do it. Its preseason... its what it is. Teams approach it differently.
|
I don't know that Haz is ever quoted as saying that he and Bill agreed on this. They said that they had agreed to it on NFL live, but they did not say who said it. Haz is quoted as saying that this was the plan before the preseason, so it may be that ESPN got it twisted.
But, hey, strange things happen with this team. Maybe this is just part of our early move to wrench the Lombardi trophy from their hands this year  |
Sounds like we'll see what happens when it happens... tonight.
|
My point exactly, yasoon.
No sense in stirring the pot unless there is complete evidence that Haslett said this. Often times, some people are so eager and so quick to believe something negative about Haslett, and the end result is compromising their common sense in an effort to spew questionable propoganda about a potentially innocent victim. |
I was not accusing.
I was pointing out that an agreement of that nature would have been odd in the extreme from the viewpoint of the Pats. |

After the past four season, I don't blame people from dogging Haslett if they were.
|
The interesting part of this story is that it may only be part 1 .
Commentators were commenting last night that Haslett appeared desperate for a win , It was commented on that the Patriots coaching staff was tired of getting pushed around on 3rd downs and the Patriots were starting to blitz to stop it . While Hasbeen gets a win in preseason , the Patriots may be looking for some payback during regular season for Hasbeens little stunt . |

When I heard about this, I thought Has was bui9lding in an excuse to play his best guys longer than the Pats... So they could win the game.
I still think that's the case. Has wanted to win. Plus, it was something new. And when you're doing something new the best way to have people not question it, is to bring in someone with a proven track record who bacs you up IE Belichik |

Unbelievable... There is no STORY. In fact...you didnt' bother to mention what Troy Aikman said. He said "there was apparently some agreement between the coaches that neither one of them knew about", followed by laughter. Did you understand that? NEITHER ONE OF THEM?? Why didn't you include that in your discussion? Oh I know why...because having the facts straight apparently isn't a top priority with you. Also, I don't care for your use of the term "desperate". I didn't hear either Joe Buck OR Troy Aikman use the word "desperate" for a win. If they did, then I must have flat-out missed it, which isn't likely because I watched all of the game, with the exception of a few bathroom breaks. They pointed out how Jim Haslett really wanted to win this game to get his team on the right track..............but your use of the term "desperate" indicates that he went out of his way to make sure the Saints won. He didn't do anything outside of what he said he'd do: He said he was going to play the starters well into the 3rd qtr, and he did. It's not like that was some big surprise. If Haslett was desperate, woudln't he have 1. Gone for it on several 4th and short opportunities that were available.. 2. Challenged the ruling on Harrison's interception 3. Incorporated some trick plays or something to try and catch NE sleeping Your use of the term "Hasbeen" throughout your posts show you to be nothing more than completely biased and completely oblivious to actual facts. As long as you give out faulty information, you can expect to see me chime in, as the voice of reason. |
Awwww... does someone need a nap?
|
No, I'm just trying to keep gullible people from being led astray by this guy's B.S. that he spews without any substance to back it up.
All he did was post some crap like "there's more to the story" and said something that he didn't back up with any kind of link or anything.........and, to the shock of absolutely no one, you were the first one to reply and say "wow that doesnt' surprise me, etc etc" (see: people, gullible......listed above). |

30 plays 10 first downs 5/6 third downs TOP 12:19 One touchdown and two field goals in four drives. You may recall Bill's halftime statement to the media where he indicated his defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd down? I think you've managed to twist what the announcers said in the 4th quarter and turn it into something it isn't. |
Well put Saintfan. That certainly looks like substance to me.
Gambler, your tone is openly hostile on this board. "BS that he spews - post some crap - people, gullible - facts straight apparently isn't a top priority with you". Is that really necessary? Please try being a little less insulting when expressing your views. |

Try harder next time to keep up , so you are not confused . |
I'll have you know, I'm not gullible, I'm senile!
|
Who cares???? Geez, some of you guys just aren't happy unless you can jump on someone's case. You all are worse than a bunch of girls with all your gossipin. Oh yeah, in case you missed it the Saints Won.
