The gyms were closed down and the training was not going to be normal, so Demario Davis leaned into both facts.
Instead of increasing the risk of contact with the coronavirus that had the world in its clutches, the New Orleans Saints linebacker brought the training and the trainer to his doorstep, literally housing his trainers for a few months this offseason. https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.town...ze=1700%2C1161 “And we were able to find ways to take our game to the next level,” Davis said. The 31-year-old Davis is about to enter his ninth NFL season and his third with the Saints, and from a pure football standpoint, this weird offseason, which led to what will be a weird season, was centered on one thing: unleashing the best version of himself. more on NOLA |

Davis is the best defender that we have on defense. No questions about it. I like that he is looking for unique ways to keep himself in shape. Training in the water is easier on the joints and at this age and the repeated pounding to his knees his knees need a break to slow down any deterioration.
I sure hope we re-sign him. I think that all of our LB'ers contract are up this year. We may see Thor and Craig Robertson playing their last year in the black and gold. Thor is injury prone and Robertson has lost a step but is still valuable on special teams. I'm not sure that that will keep him on the team. |
