More details have emerged regarding the injury that’s keeping Saints left guard Andrus Peat out of practice, although his return date remains unclear.

The initial report was that Peat is missing time due to a hand injury and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Tuesday that he has a broken thumb. Peat may need surgery to repair the injury and a better idea of when he’ll be back will come into focus once the answer to that question is known.

As of now, though, Peat hasn’t been ruled out of playing in the season opener against the Buccaneers. If he does play in that game, he could be doing so with a club on his hand.

Nick Easton replaced Peat in practice and also filled in for him when he missed multiple weeks with a broken forearm last season.

Some peoples bodies just can't take a beating while others can. Apparently, he can't hold up to the stress on his body from playing a contact sport. I realize it's another broken bone and those heal but dang! It's always something with this guy! Poor guy does have some bad luck on a regular basis.

This wasn't from playing a game. That's why I am curious what happened. Was it football related or not? Of course, with HIPAA laws we may never know.

The low-life shows up out of the blue to celebrate a Saints injury. Go figure.

Living in Baltimore he's now praying for both hurricanes to decimate New Orleans so he can rejoice over any pain to Saints fans since he is safe from everything other than the drug wars in his projects.

Yet, I was raised to respect people of every color and culture ... except for idiots. Pretty much impossible to respect an idiot regardless of color and/or culture.

Now Spk...you're not supposed to disagree with anything he says or any roster moves the Saints do. You're also supposed to LOOOVE every player/coach on the Saints, regardless of their play, their personal life choices and or mistakes, and everything else, regardless if you don't agree with them.

Saw some vids of it. He looks good, not much lost from last season. He was practicing safe falling for when the defender blows him over enroute to Drew in say the 1rst playoff game at home. The way he crumbles to the ground is remarkable.
