Ricky is still Ricky
Well although Ricky only played in a few series tonight, he looks like the same running back. He will get his 1,000+ yards in Miami which happens when you carry the ball 35-40 times a game. But Ricky will never be a great running back. Here's my list of 5 reasons why:
1. He's not a team player. The guys in Miami love him right now because they think he's their saviour. I say they start complaining about him by the beginning of the next season. 2. He has no balance. Deuce was tripped the other night but still managed to rgain his balance and gain another 5-6 yards before another tackler brought him down. Ricky would've fell a yard after the trip. He's way too easy to tackle by the ankles. 3. He's not the power back that he is hyped up to be. Power backs are guys like Alstott, Bettis, Riggins, etc. Ricky will power over a guy but fall 2 yards after he breaks the tackle. The other backs mentioned above just keep on chugging. Even Pittman tonight looked like he had more power than Ricky. 4. He doesn't have that competitive nature. When it's time to lay it all on the line, Ricky backs away. 5. He has no heart. Ricky plays for Ricky. It will be amusing to watch how his teammates and the city of Miami repond to him when he starts blaming everyone else. Not sure about anyone else but I would love to see a Saints/Dolphins Superbowl. |
